Thirdly: BOW BEFORE THE MOLTRES

Pokemon Journey 156-157

Comments

If the Pikachu animated shorts are canon, Ash is actually 11, since they throw an anniversary party for when Ash met Pikachu

All Hail the flaming Moltres! XD but yeah James despite going through a change in VA's in english and I'm not sure if his japanese VA changed but all the same James is a fun character who has a lot of great moments that put a smile on my face even as a an adult and surprisingly even in the current seasons of pokemon airing but also has genuine emotional moments that do make me sympathize with him.

Freddy Gutierrez

Me, I've accepted the fact that he's a timelord. Also, am I the only one who sees the back of Pokemon trading cards with the phony fortune telling guides? It's not one-to-one, but the design and colors are pretty damn close.

Maurice DeLynch

no link to that color/animal test?

AussieDragoon

He's actually closer to Red's canonical age when he started his Pokémon adventure according to Shudo.

Evan Bao

Ash's started his journey when he was ten years, and ten months old...So not only has a year not passed, two months haven't passed either.

Ahh, nothing like Moltres James to soothe my soul. I wonder why these 2 episodes were dropped from those VHS and DVD releases? It's like they decided those volume releases had to have exactly 3 episodes each by law or something. Denying kids the opportunity to rewatch James's spectacle of confidence? Unacceptable. Although, according to Bulbapedia both episodes were included on all of the AU/NZ Season 3 sets (unlike the US ones), so they were only truly "lost" until 2007. But hey, 2 missing episodes isn't so bad, compared to the UK where only Season 1 has ever got an official DVD release, and that wasn't until 2017, 2 years after America finally got The Fortune Hunters on disc.

Jack Christmas

I think there's too much repetition with after and after in the second half of the review.

Evan Bao

Did you know that Rachel Lillis got Eric Stuart a moltres Snuggie

Brock Harrison

Wait a moment, does this mean that meowth has a human associated with him based off when he's born? I wonder who

Gungelion

Misty also has a Gyardos in The Electric Tales of Pikachu Manga (the first manga based on the show) which she uses in her Gym Battle with Ash in the 2nd aka 3rd issue (watch Linkara's review for the reason why the 3rd and 2nd issues were switched) that she actually trained really well so guess it's just more a hatred at this specific part of her life in the anime. Probably due to the you know nearly dying because of them thing.

Neo Ultra Mike

Why is someones personality make them gay? I thought it was a seual attraction, not a personality. Flamboyent is a personality trait, not an orientation

I heard "James is gay" looonnnnggg after I stopped watching the show and thought it was odd but following Suede's videos....I'm not surprised tween me missed it but yep. Definitely gay.

Thorny4You

Funny how cops in the animeverse always arrest Butch and Cassidy but always fail with Jesse and James.

MesousaGaby

Of course, we don't know their true Pokémon fortunes 12:34 Wouldn't say Meowth or Weezing, indeed most likely a Magikarp but by the look of James's face in the end when he exclaims "Oh no, it can't be...?!!" I got a feeling it's either Pikachu or Victreebel

Mark Lynn

James the flaming Moltres totally hilarious 😂 quite like Buzz Lightyear space ranger belief in first Toy Story movie And quote: "I think that costume came out of his closet"

Mark Lynn

2:30 Giant Gengar reference to The Ancient Puzzle of Pokémopolis 😨😱 reminder of that absorbing Godzilla total nightmare fuel even poor Pidgeotto and Brock's Onix

Mark Lynn

Ash: Oh yeah, Heracross will be useful, what an idiot I am Misty: Ash you big idiot, Heracross is with Professor Oak

Joe Crammond

a rock that looks like a tree, give it a few more episodes. lol

yet Misty gets a gyrados later in the chronicles side arc.

Yep

only the Kanto ones.

Aren't most ghost types also poison types so wouldn't a Psychic type be useful

Always enjoy a good Sabrina cameo... Really wish they put in the series more often >_> or her own series! Sabrina the teenage psychic, I'd watch that!

Gungelion

Um, I probably should have noticed the joke during the scripting session, but Charizard actually was decent in competitive during generation 2 because of Belly Drum. And if you're going to say "By present standards..." it's actually getting a lot of attention in doubles because its Gigantamax form is great for boosting speed and the fire hazard it sets up (it also helps that nobody uses stealth rock in doubles). It's no Cinderace, but it does have its uses.
