2025-06-20 00:45:11 +0000 UTCThe problem is we never really see Ash make an attempt to work with Charizard. He often just kept him in his Pokeball while everyone else ran around free. It almost came off as neglectful on his part.

2025-06-19 23:20:36 +0000 UTCOne thing that always bugged me with a lot of the criticism with how Ash handled Charizard was how they don't really come up with a way how he could get to obey him. The only real option I can think of for Ash to make Charizard to listen to him would likely be to have his other Pokemon beat the crap out of Charizard to possibly deflate its ego or something, and I think Ash basically beating Charizard into submission would likely get a Dark Ball rating. In the end, Charizard only started to listen to Ash again after (spoilers) Tad's Poliwrath beat the crap out of it, leading to Ash trying to tend to Charizard seeing Ash cares about it while its ego is deflated. FR, can someone please give me a way for Ash to make Charizard to listen to him without having to beat the crap out of it? I'm all ears.
