ALEXiThymiA: Chapter 123 Devil With The De-Tails

<<<< Author's Note: Congratulations, you have made it happen. Alexa Thyme will be the first, human dual classer.

Her Primary Class will Absorber level 38. While her Secondary Class being Precursor Sage level 1. Thank you all so much for the great voter turn out in both cases.

In both votes we had well over half of you show up, making this by far the most successful voting series I have ever created.

Since you all voted for it, I will now reveal a bit behind the curtains of what the first Passive Ability Alexa will gain from her Precursor Sage class.
Passive Power: Passively Dungeon Powered: You are now a caretaker of dungeons, and will now be able to passively use the true power of dungeons at all times. All of your attributes go up by one for every hour you spend within a dungeon, cannot exceed your current level maximum.

Active Power: Dungeon Porter: Once a day you can teleport yourself and any party members to any dungeon you know about, or can exit any dungeon location you know about.
Also: One more minor note. I intend to make this the end of Book 3. Don't worry, obviously Book 4 will be coming.

Chapter 123

Devil with the De-Tails

Saturday

Alexa’s muscles and joints ached from the jarring impact, but she would not complain. Instead, she used the pain as a motivating factor to get better, to do better. Realizing that her current plan made her get too close, she decided to create a weapon that would allow her to combat from a distance. Instantly her mind imagined and then began creating the foundation for a large scimitar, one that was a poly-weave blend of different magics, one that used Creation to form the handle, base and elements of the blade. Light magic to allow for rays of light to both heat up areas impacted, while also blinding anyone who would dare stare at the pointy end of the blade. She used Arcane, to give the sword bite and power. Illusion magic to cause its true location to remain a mystery as it would seem to distort space and time around it. She used Earth to reinforce the blade and allow magical energies to travel through it more easily. Then she used Healing magic to have it so only her blood could activate such a fearsome blade. Finally, she imbued the blade with Wind magic to help force its way through the air faster, additionally it was the wind that would carry any further attacks forward.  Only once all these concepts were formed together did the sword begin to form. In truth the concept had been slowly coming to her for a while, this was something she felt she had needed for a while. This was something that would allow her to push a battle further.

As the sword she was creating was going to be wielded against dragons, and said dragon was still in close proximity, Alexa could feel the full effects of her Dragon’s Bane and Dragon Slayer titles kicking in, not just giving her an innate boost to her Magic based Attributes, but also giving her a 1,000% increase to her effectiveness against dragons. The result was as one could expect, the sword grew rapidly from her hand outward.

The sword woven together by so many magical elements and forces all began to glow in the dust cloud that was kicked up around both her and the dragon. Fortunately while the dragon had fallen down deeper into the rubble, Alexa managed to push herself off in time before she fell the final floor down into first the basement, then the sub-basement level. Even with its body down over twenty feet further into the ground, the beast was still massive and huge. Though it was not without injury, Alexa had destroyed its left wing, and the base of its left leg and tail. While the dragon too had a massive Regeneration capability, one that was already hard at work. From her vantage point, Alexa could see the massive light of Healing energy already hard at work, fixing the vile beast from within. Still it had suffered a lot of injuries from the fall.

Alexa herself had suffered injuries, but most were minor in comparison to what she had previously experienced, as such through sheer will and determination alone she was able to stand and allow her body to Regenerate naturally, while she focused on her task at hand.

Stirring.

The massive beast began moving almost immediately, its massive wings coming up, trying to remove the piles of dirt and debris from its back that had fallen in on top of it, as it fell further and further down. This only seemed to do two things, first it caused dirt and powdery dust to get into the exposed wounds of the monster, while also managing to tear the left wing of the great beast even more. Seemingly wincing in pain, as it first began to rise up, then feeling the pain it dropped back down and  could only pant in pain.

“Well little minions, when I get out of here I will eat you raw.” The dragon hissed as it looked around, then spotting a light ahead of it, the dragon snapped its mouth forward, only to bite a concrete pillar. Alexa for her part had easily rolled out of the way from the colossal beast, as its movements were far slower than it had been before the fall. It was clear that it was still disoriented from the fall, seeing its impaired mental state, Alexa let a fiendish smile form on her face as she had an homage come to mind, that she was reminded of from the beast’s words. Also seeing the beast’s current state, covered by dirt and dust, the imagery was all too perfect not to fit.

Using Illusion and Light magic, Alexa created three exact copies of herself, all fused with Arcane energy to provide a bite and sting to any would be assaults on her image. Each image had an exact replica of the sword she now wielded, the one woven from seven different schools of magic. The one she had all but radiated magical energy, but now so too did her replicas. Remembering her previous battle with Ryelifa, Alexa was certain that these copies of her would now be able to apply real damage, despite being mostly illusionary.

“What, what is this?” The dragon hissed, as its massive neck and tail began spinning about trying to catch the many different Alexas.

Rather than running away as most people would, the Alexas dodged the incoming attacks, then as one, all began singing a favorite childhood song of Alexa’s, one from one of her favorite movies of all time.

“Kidnap the Sandy Claws, beat him with a stick!”

The Alexas began chanting, each one using her stolen power of Enchanting Voice to sing the song with an echoing effect that further gave way to hiding the real her.

Alexa, the real Alexa who had once again run back to the back side of the great beast charged forward and then focused attacking the wildly swinging tail. The tail for its part was a massive piece of force and weight. The tail itself was the size of a wrecking ball, but well over fifty feet long from tip to hip.

Seeing the massive bludgeoning implement of death hurtling towards her, Alexa paused her advance and instead found herself channeling Earth magic into her legs and body, forcing her body to remain still, while an unstoppable force came barreling forward. In this, the only part of her body that she allowed to move were her arms, which only tilted slowly forward.

The result was something you would expect, the glowing hot sword while long was not long enough to cut entirely through the tail.

Wham!

Alexa felt a sharp cracking pain crash into her, then forcefully push her down. At that same time, she found her whole body collapsing. As a massive weight seemed to barrel over her. The entire time Alexa freeing the glowing blade crashing into her, used her might and even summoned forth her Telekinesis to help push the blade up, even as tons of weight and force were pressing the blade down.

In a second, the ultimate collision of forces occurred, pure physics driven by two tons of tail and force, against Alexa’s indomitable will that was being wielded exclusively against a massive dragon.

SHRIEEK!

The dragon let out a pain filled scream, while Alexa’s copies all moved in for the kill. One dove to the back right haunch of the beast, another dove under a now half hearted strike from the mouth, only to dive under the neck extended maw, and give a strike at the neck. While the third lashed out at the still uninjured right wing of the beast.

The discarded tail of the massive beast crashed onto Alexa’s right shoulder causing an instant jolt of pain, but she knew that pain was only a fraction of what the beast was now feeling.

Then not missing a beat, the chorus of Alexa’s all sang out in their maddening cacophony of echoing sounds.

“Kidnap the Sandy Claws, lock him up real tight!

Throw away the key and then

Turn off all the Lights!”

As soon as they all said the last part, Alexa did just as described. With a force of will, she grabbed all the lights and extinguished them. Not too hard to do, especially given that it was now late at night and there was a thick cloud of dust in the air, but it did cause enough of a distraction for Alexa to roll her way free of the tail and join the melee that was commencing on the dragon’s back. Mentally she gave the Illusionary Replicas of herself free autonomy to do what they wanted.

BOOM!

An eruption could be heard from up ahead, where the Alexa that had been battling the dragon’s head was crushed by the massive weight of the dragon’s neck. Rather than being crushed, the Illusionary Replica exploded into a burst of Arcane energy that ripped apart the dragon’s damaged neck even further.

Forcing her way to her feet, Alexa then joined the chorus of singing Alexas who all sang the next line.

“Kidnap the Sandy Claws, chop him into bits!”

As they sang, Alexa and her two remaining replicas all charged forward, jumping down from their raised position and striking at the monster.

Shink.

Their blades began rending and tearing away the flesh of the beast in quick succession. Alexa didn’t know if their power was amplified by the fact that she had two Tier X powers woven together in the form of her Illusion and Arcane magic, or if this was just a result of how much more powerful her magic was against dragons, but the Illusionary Alexas were doing as much, if not more damage to the dragon as she was with her magical sword.

In fact, her replicas were doing so well that the dragon seemed to disregard her entirely as it made to snap at and strike at the replicas first, giving Alexa time to line up her strikes and slice into the backbone of the great beast.

ARGGARAHH!

The beast let out a pain filled whimper, but her strike was not alone, as the Alexa Replica who had been on the back right haunch of the beast earlier also struck at a higher up portion of the backbone, one closer to the ribs. The only difference was that the strike from the Replica was so much stronger that the blade only stopped, when the blade reached near her feet, cutting through deep muscles and unknown organs of the beast.

SQUISH!

The strike from the replica was so intense that it caused a geyser of black and demonically powered blood to rise up and soak everything.  Even from a few dozen feet away, Alexa found herself getting covered.

They’re doing better than me. Alexa thought, and almost felt affronted by the audacity that her mentally created replicas would be able to outperform her physically. Then thinking about it logically, the situation made sense, these were inherently magical beings, one that were heightened to be beyond Alexa’s normal human limitations based on her inherent bonuses to magic. In that moment, she realized that she was both necessary and unnecessary to the reaction of what was going to happen. She was necessary to create the monsters that were now cleaving their way through the dying beast, but unnecessary as her getting hurt or killed here would only cause problems in the future. Especially considering the fact that she had taken damage from this assault, while one other had been killed, Alexa knew that the now dead Replica did so to inflict maximum carnage on the beast. Even now, as the pinned into the earth dragon desperately tried and failed to break its way free, its only real defense was the reach of its long neck, a neck that was clearly bleeding with every failed swipe.

Then before Alexa even realized what had happened, the dragon so injured by the right haunch Replica, made one last killing attempt at that now stationary target who seemed to be struggling to get her blade free from the massive torso of the beast. Alexa watched as the beast lunged forward, trying to strike at the exposed Replica, when the Replica that had been working on disabling the right wing, lunged forward and in one precise movement sliced off the monster’s neck fully, aiming exactly for the now exposed weak spot that was clearly visible thanks to the strike on the Alexa Replica that had been on the middle of the beast’s back.

Slink.

The blade cut through freely, just as the massive maw of the beast closed around the stationary Replica. Of course, it had all been a ruse, as even the stationary Replica had her own tricks, as she exploded inside the beast’s mouth, unleashing a full burst of Arcane and Illusionary damage. Alexa watched shocked as the light from the burst was so bright and intense that it shone through the eyes of the dragon, causing the orbs to glow a bright golden color for a moment, before the surge and strength of the blow was too much.

Splat.

The glowing golden eye then erupted, causing a trail of mucus and membrane to fly everywhere. Once again, Alexa, the real Alexa, was close enough to feel the faint pelting of eye mucus and fluids pelt against her. She paused watching the damage, but it seemed her last remaining Replica was not done, as it went forward a few paces, towards the front of the beast and further away from Alexa, who was still mostly towards the rear of the massive creature. Then with a quick movement, the Replica swung her replica sword in the air, then brought it down on a singular point.

Shink.

The sword sliced its way in easily, Replica Alexa drove her sword into the hilt. Then apparently nodding to herself, the Replica Alexa without any orders from Alexa detonated herself. But rather than having her entire body explode outside in, it seemed that this Replica had channeled the full extent of its killing force down the hilt of the sword and into the sword itself, once all the energy that had been allowing the Replica Alexa to move was channeled, the sword erupted with a burst of power and force.

BOOM!

Alexa watched as the sword that was now acting as the complete catalyst for the explosion erupted from deep in the dragon’s chest, causing a bubble of force to rip its way free of the beast’s insides. If the decapitation, and subsequent brain explosion hadn’t been enough to kill this beast, then Alexa was certain that this last attack, an explosion deep in the heart of the great beast surely would be enough.

Alexa stared, dumbfounded by the sheer ruthless nature of her spells. It was what she would have done herself, sacrificing everything to destroy the enemy, seeing her own determination mirrored so perfectly in the near autonomy she had given her Replicas was a bit unnerving, but also exciting. I now have minions, Alexa thought to herself. No, not just minions, but replicas of herself. Replicas that could do as much, if not more damage than she could naturally.

For a second she wondered if she had managed to kill the beast, but only after a second did her mind begin to slow down, as she no longer had to worry about the speed of battle. Instead, she just had to focus on the speed of the world around her. That was when the system did indeed confirm her victory.

Titles Gained:

Dragon Slayer (21): All Magic abilities increased by 15% (315%). Magical effectiveness against all dragons increased by 50% (1,050%).

Solo Assassin (2): You single handedly killed two different enemies from two different enemy species that were both 100 levels higher than your own. Reward: +20% attribute bonus when engaging any enemy in single combat.

Seeing the increase for Solo Assassin almost made Alexa laugh at the irony, she hadn’t been alone, there were four of her, but they were all her. Her power, her skill, her determination, even the way they all sacrificed themselves so that the others would have an easier time slaying the beast, that was all her. Smiling to herself, she now knew how she would be able to not only conquer the last dragon, but how she would be able to finish her Trials of Ascension. She didn’t know the future held, but now she was once again excited to see what challenges could be placed before her path.

Then pausing, she looked at her scimitar she had created, for a second she thought about discarding it entirely, but then looking at it, she realized this was likely a perfect weapon. So rather than discarding the weapon, she instead Created a sheath for the powerful blade, that she then strapped around her back.

“I went to England, slew a dragon, and all I got was this magic sword.” Alexa muttered to herself as she began climbing her way out of the debris. It was still dark out, the sun would rise in a few hours, and she had at least one more dragon to slay before the sun went down.

“Time to get moving.” She said, as the last rays of energy filled her. This time when offered the choice of what she wanted to do, she went ahead and pushed all the gathered energy towards once again increasing her attributes. She paused, half hoping that this dragon would be enough, but apparently no.

“Oh well, always next time.” Alexa thought, as she climbed her way free of the rubble and then with marked determination, she began her new search for her next target. Rising from the rubble, she took her first fresh breath of air. Then turning herself so she was now facing in her believed direction of the last major dragon, she spoke out her promise that she was making to herself. “I’m coming for you.”

Comments

This would have only been for 20+ attributes each. With the next dragon it will be enough. The majority is going towards leveling, while all that she Absorbs, the 100+ Absorbed points is what she can apply to her attributes.

It’s always a little unclear if she’s able to absorb energy after a kill or not, but if she has in this case, attribute title should probably go up by 1, maybe even 2 if she was close, since level 60 dragons were giving her almost a full stage increase back many chapters ago.
