Harry Potter: Reborn as Lockhart

Chapter 5




Title: First Classes



….





When we entered inside Prof. McGonagall guided us in front of the sorting hat and then she said in her usual high voice.


"Now… before we begin Professor Dumbledore would like to say a few words."


Then Dumbledore gets up  from his seat… 




Wow he looks pretty much as old as he did during Harry's generation… just his beard seems a little shorter…  when he gets up he says…



"I have a few things I would like to announce."



And he says the things… like students aren't allowed in the Forbidden Forest and so on...



Then, Prof. McGonagall started calling names in alphabetical order. The first she called was…


"Abbott, Anna."



Anna nervously fidgets next to me and then finally she goes forward and she sits on the stool seat. Then McGonagall put the hat on her head and after a couple of seconds the hat screamed…




"GRYFFINDOR."



And the Gryffindor table erupts in applause… I even see some certain fifth years talking amongst themselves… the Merauders…

And just like that after dozens of names… my turn comes... and since I am not someone famous like Harry Potter… and neither am I the first or last person. The people in the hall were not paying me that much attention… then as I go forward… and sit down I have my senses at 100%. Then just for a split second I noticed that McGonagall or anyone from the Teachers table wasn't paying attention to me… I point my finger towards the Hat...

'Confundo.'


And cast a silent and wandless Confundo… I immediately wonder my eyes around and… it seems like no one noticed… I used the spell on the hat just in case my Occlumency was unable to protect me from the mind reading effect… the hat doesn't say anything in my head and it just shouts…




"RAVENCLAW."





I immediately cancel the spells and go towards the Ravenclaw's table… I could feel my heart beating fast… adrenaline was running through my body… I was so happy that I almost screamed… but my outward appearance just had a perfectly choreographed smile on my face… and immediately I started using passive Legilimency to read the intent of those that locked eyes with me… and I used my charm to make some minio-... I mean friends for myself...


Though Ravenclaws are not known for their friendliness… I am pretty sure I can easily manipulate some kids… but mostly I choose Ravenclaw as a cover… I wasn't going to choose either of the cans of worms that were Slytherin or Gryffindor… so it was between Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw… and a Hufflepuff asking for anything like a pass from a teacher to go into the restricted section of the library is… well not good... and the teachers might gain an interest... even though the chance is small... why take the unnecessary risk...



….



Immediately next day the first class I had was… Herbology… with Slytherins… it was just a normal class that was just theory for the first lesson... but then came the next one… with the Slytherins again… and in this class as soon as Prof. Flitwick said…


"Just a flick and say Lumos."



I immediately do so and say…


"Lumos."


A perfect amount of light appears on the tip of my wand. When Fitwock sees this he almost jumps in joy and says.


"Ahhh mister Lockhart, very, very good… perfect amount of light, not too little and not too much… twelve points to Ravenclaw… "

During the end of the class some students were able to light the tip of their want a little and they got between one or two points depending on their performance… but no one was quite as good as me… even though I helped the Ravenclaw and even some Slytherin which with the use of Legilimency and reading their intentions I determined that they did appreciate it… but most importantly… from the corner of my eye I watched Prof. Flitwick who sees my actions of trying to 'help' others and just smiles a little.



Perfect… all according to plan up until now...



….





Then after lunch break we have History of Magic with Hufflepuff… and since the teacher was a boring ghost who didn't even know any Wizarding History after the nineteenth century… I used my skills of having  good time management  from my past life and started doing the Charm homework.



I knew that the Ghost Professor probably won't say anything but I still did it sneakily and acted as if I was writing his lessons down… when in reality I was using Occlumency to go through my memory with the lessons that I just had with Prof. Flitwick and doing the Charm Homework...

And after this class I had Transfiguration with Hufflepuff… and when I entered there I saw that just like during Harry's timeline Prof. McGonagall was transformed into a cat and sitting on the teacher's desk… 



And when the lesson started and when she changed from cat to human I had to act a little surprised … even though I also can already become an Animagus...


And just like with charms and that it only took me two tries (had to fake one)  to turn the wooden needle into a silver one…


Then after finishing the lessons for the day I just went to my dormitory room that I share with another fellow Ravenclaw first year… the room is spacious enough and it has two separate beds. Plus the beds have covers on it to stop the sunlight. Also there are two desks in the dorm room for studying...


But as soon as I go inside I go into my half of the room and put my luggage bag into my bed and open it… then I pull some blinders that cover my bed… and go inside the luggage… and when I go inside it… there is a whole separate big bedroom inside the luggage… and then I get a looser robe though it still fits it is perfect for hiding things on it…
