Same. I enjoy watching people get excited at the action and animation and everything, but was starting to get frustrated with the lack of empathy most reactors have for Bernard and Reiner. They're all too eager for them to die since season 2 and they never realise that's not the point of the show until season 4.

Yessss. Isayama thought about this story since his childhood and it shows. This season really dived deep into his persona, justifying all his previous actions. It's a blessing that he is on our side. Also, the main difference could be that he is aware his single-minded pursuit is also the reason that many of his comrades are dead. A villain, in the sense of the word, is either unaware or does not care that he might be the one causing pain to others. But Erwin knows he has to be the one to do it. He has to be the one to incur all the curses and the deaths.

I kinda love that he's not this 100% pure person. Like, yes, he feels the weight of all the death he's caused, but his main drive is that HE, himself, gets to find out the truth. He puts on this appearance that he's all about humanity's survival, and he definitely IS, to a degree, but we also learn that internally, he really just desperately wants to know the truth so bad that he'll do whatever it takes. Awesome depth for a character we think is pretty one-note before this.

I wish people hadn't told you the Ackerman theory was wrong. Honestly, it was a good theory. With how gradually this show pulls back the curtain, there's a lot of 'alternate theories' in existence that, if the show went that direction, would've been great but didn't end up coming to fruition. It doesn't mean the theory is dumb though

The internal monologue of Erwin throughout this episode was insane. We, as an audience, were first time allowed to be inside Erwin's head and strategize with him. He stayed calm to assess the complete situation and then gave out orders. Gave specific instructions to Levi and Armin depending on each of their strengths. This man is more fierce than even the titan shifters. Yet, the conflicts and emotions that go through his head are too brutal. He is being torn apart by the amount of sacrifices he has ordered and the dream he is meant to achieve. Being in the heat of battle, still his mind lingers on the dream he set out to accomplish. Should he try to go find the basement if everything goes awry ? Then what about all the hearts and the lives his comrades gave ? A lion among men

Perfect Game, and Hero are ranked like number 2 and 3 in IMDBs top television episodes of all time, only trumped by Breaking Bads Ozymandias which is also one of the greatest television moments of all time. I think Hero was number one for a long time though.

Man the Eren Reiner rematch was sick. A little unrealistic in execution but I guess they're both kinda rookie grapplers. Eren pushing Reiner down to stuff his take down shot then for some reason turning and getting ankled picked lol. But God damn was I hyped when Eren locked Reiner up with that Kimura wish he would have controlled his feet better and snapped ole boys arm off. I always thought it was really cool that they use real Jui Jitsu and wrestling moves. Especially in the first fight when you see Eren redirect Reiner's thumb to initiate the arm twisting, that shows you the writer understand Jui Jitsu beyond the basics.
