The biggest glimpse into Amos' past... and still in a way only implying things and still keeping it somewhat dark. Fun fact: Hyper-oxygenated blood actually has been in development and basically exists today, so another tech that is rooted in real world science. So amazing how they try to keep the show grounded in real physics/technology.

Can I ask what your next live actions shows will be?

Cranking them out so fast that I’m 3 episodes behind!!

I had a pretty rough childhood myself, though not as bad as Amos, so the first time watching this episode I was expecting it to break me. Instead I found myself empathizing more with the strength Amos displayed to get out of that than being sad about it. Watching it through this time was a whole different experience for me. The old man breaking about what is he supposed to do now that his world is gone crushed me. Im not old, but I'm on a ticking clock with terminal cancer. 3 weeks ago the woman I loved was killed while camping when someone passed out while driving and went off the road and hit her. Now my whole world is gone and Ive got no time to start over, and it's the old man whos my reflection on screen. It's really cathartic to watch these with you two, so thank you for these reactions. I look forward to crying together a lot this season.

Such a beautiful scene with Timothy and Lydia. There is a photo I have seen with Wes Chatham and the actor playing Timothy as a young boy (Cole Pollack) just smiling and having a good time out on the docks where the scene is shot. They picked a child who looks so much like Amos as a boy it is pretty amazing! The actor Jacob Mundell who plays Erich is actually disabled and this follows the portrayal of Erich in the books who has one arm that is not developed. The actor had a total blast playing this character and really liked interacting with the fans on social media as well. The casting on this show is just top notch!

This is honestly one of my favorite episodes ever, probably because we finally get some actual backstory on Amos (we've had hints, nods, etc). The young actor they chose to play young Amos killed it without a single line. Amos is my favorite literary character so i'm biased for this episode, haha. Can't wait for rest of this season (my personal favorite, though I understand why most people rank Season 3 higher).

Only the next episode? I don’t want to bum them out either, but they may need to strap in for the entire rest of hyena season.

I don't want to bum you out... but the next episode hit me even harder than this one. That might just be me though.

Amos told Erich, "I'm not here to take anything that belongs to you," then took his booze.
