2022-10-11 05:10:33 +0000 UTCThis is largely due to two factors. 1. He killed Mina and Alexander and attempted to kill Ed and Al who are children. 2. FMAB doesn't portray what Hawk Eye and Mustang did. We see Hawk Eye snipe a combatant and Mustang walk around causing explosions. We don't see the implications that Mustang was incinerating children and Hawk Eye was sniping men, woman, and child civilians repeatedly.

Maybe you feel Misa's character was sexualized in a demeaning way? I also want to remind you guys Misa was 19 at her youngest age in death note and she was a super model. Winry is a 16 year old engineer/mechanic.

And yes i understand the whole "scar was committing violence regardless of the victim's contribution to the extermination" thing. It's again, just hypocritical that Scar is usually singled out in these kinds of discussions (in the wider fandom sense i mean) when he's in reality the biggest victim with the most miniscule body count out there in comparison. And yeah you're probably right the context and traditional writing would give scar the most red flags for death, that's prolly what thye meant.

2022-09-21 18:17:03 +0000 UTCWe’ll just have to agree to disagree on that I guess, Imo he did do horrible things, killing the Rockbell, no matter the circumstances is horrible and we didn’t see all his victims so considering how he tried to kill Ed and Al it’s safe to assume he didn’t only killed rotten people. Even in the kills we saw, one of the victim was an alchemist who, even if he did participate in the war, refused to kill surrending ishvalans and actually killed his superior officer when he ordered him to go on with the extermination regardless (the scene in the manga wasn’t included in the anime unfortunately) so not all the states alchemist killed were horrible racists rotten to the core even if once again, by participating to the war they did commit horrible acts. And just to come back to the whole « scar deserves to die » thing, I don’t think the girls were saying that, just that in the context of the narrative, scar is one of the character that have to most red flag

But it don't matter, it's still a net positive to k word a couple state alchemists, literally nothing of value was lost. And, he's doing great now it's a great resolution so far. Big win.. It just don't make sense when ppl point at Scar and say he did "horrible" things when like, he didn't. Rip to the Rockbells tho, wear eye contactcs next time, be smart.

2022-09-21 17:34:26 +0000 UTCIt’s not about if his state of mind made sense or not, he had his reasons for sure, still the fact that he tried to kill Ed on sight just because he was a state alchemist prove that he didn’t care about the implication of his victims in the war, you were a state alchemist = he was going to kill you, that was his reasoning so yes he wasn’t exactly doing good deeds at that time. Regardless the show showed in multiple instances that one of the many horror of war is that not only psychopaths like Kimblee commits atrocities, people like mustang, Hawkeye, Armstrong or scar also do but FMAB also insist on the fact that it’s never too late to try to make things better (mustang and Hawkeye and their plan to implement a democratie or scar putting under control his own anger for the greater good and to build a better future for the remaining ishvalans)

Still got ptsd from the war, offing state alchemists makes sense cuz they are weapons more than anything else and all the ones we see WERE war criminals present during Ishval. Plus he never got Ed so he's good. Homeboy seeing the pearly gates for sure. Bless up.

He attacked anyone with the qualification regardless. Like literally he couldve just looked at Ed and be like "ight no way this kid was old enough to be in that war" but he proceeded to kill him anyway. The only thing on his mind was killing any state alchemist he comes across. Of course, he has his tragic backstory and his reasoning can be understandable. Still, he definitely aint going to heaven

He has a considerably smaller body count than any of the of the other adults in the series like Mustang or Hawkeye.
