i wouldn't say the story is terrible. i think i'm just attached to it so much for the side characters and the friendships throughout the show more so than the main couple lol

I love the style of newer dramas but older dramas from 2015-2017 have a particular style that is just super funny while also being able to pull off heartwarming AND more serious/darker plotlines.

2023-02-13 20:05:39 +0000 UTCThe reason why Bokju’s friend is embarrassed with motel, many times motel is not for the sleeping overnight but only for renting rooms 2-3 hours for sex in korea. Most of time, it is for young couples or sometimes for adultery. People would assume if costumers are old, it is for affair. so they have a lot of customers during the day. So it is a legal business but sex related. I also think parents and coaches in this show are too violent. Corporal punishment is prohibited now in school by law. I don’t think Bokju dad’s behavior is normal. I never see this type of dad in my close friend’s group and my mom would divorce him if he is that violent lol. In this case, his characteristics are related to being ex-athletes. He was too strict and violent when she was not a devoted athlete. This show depicts elite athlete culture in korea, It is quite oppressive and sometimes too harsh. We see and criticize its problematic culture on News many times during the Olympic season. Of course Not everyone is like that but somehow it is true.
