As someone who recently lost a parent, and am having to put my life back together from that, Belle's story *really hit*. I adore her, her design, the fact that Mr. Tinker isn't gone because of the huge way he affected the people around him instead of being a stock plot gimmick, just everything they got going with her here. The IDW comics are doing a fantastic job (IMHO) in trying to find that sweet spot of narrative where you can make events approachable for younger audiences but respect their intelligence enough to leave room to breathe.
