With the CMC getting their cutie marks, I thought I'd share a different look at one of my previous pieces involving the filly trio. This screenshot shows exactly how I work.
When I do major props, I tend to construct the entire thing, despite the fact I may not even show the entire structure. This gives me the opportunity to reuse props should the need arises. Other major props and settings I've had include The Golden Oak Library (RIP) and the various interiors I use for backgrounds.
You know this treehouse from "Hostage Crisis", the Illustrator artboard outline is where the art gets cropped for focus, when in reality the view of the entire treehouse is beyond the crop, pouring into my other artboards (I work on an open canvas). It's a very big tree.
