New Sketch and Lineart progress
Added 2023-07-04 19:08:56 +0000 UTCHi everyone! I'll try to keep this one simple, yet have the things itself be at a higher level of creative concept. This tower will be set in an almost endless sea of grass, and the lantern by the tower as well as the characters lantern will be matched in their look. If you look closely, you'll also already see the wisps floating around in the lineart piece, which has yet to be finished. This time, there will be no clouds in order to not distract from the simplicity of having just two elements. When having two elements in a piece, there is always the difficulty of striking the right balance between them. One of them has to be more important to a viewer than the other, or else we feel uneasy looking at to things that are both equally strong in competing for our attention.
The tower will probably be painted in a pastel chalk color, or in a grey blue with red-ish tones in it. Either way, I'll pay extra attention to its texture and edges.
This Thursday I'll have more time to draw on this one, hopefully focusing on compositional simplicity and conceptual strength will pay off in the end.
