Royal Mail Aviaries
Added 2024-05-26 10:01:16 +0000 UTCThe Royal Mail Aviaries of Argenta are full of birds of all different sizes. Some of them are said to be more reliable than others, but they all have their own strengths and weaknesses regarding weight to carry, distance, speed etc. The Keeper decides on what mail the birds are able to carry, and how long they should rest when they return. Many say that it would be more practical and cheaper if they'd not return to the same aviary each time after delivering their mail - but these Argentians fail to understand that an Aviary feels like a home to these birds, who have mostly been there since they were young. Some of them even learned to fly with the help of the Keepers and are glad to have a place to call home, especially during the winter in the Northern hemisphere.
I'm rather proud of this piece, there are so many small details that were fun to draw and add to the overall feeling. It felt a bit daring to use the "Zzz" on the cat, but it's comic art overall, so why not? ^^
I actually already have mostly done the sketch for the next one, it will be quite an unusual scene compared to what I usually draw - in the air!
We'll see our wizard again, travelling with a really rare means of transport in Argenta, but I won't tell more right now, you'll see it soon!
