I haven’t read the manga recently but I pretty sure in the manga Luffy just gets put in his place lol

Thank you for uploading this Khan! Just wanted to say that while I also think Divine Thunder sounds badass, that was just a fan translation so it's not really the anime's fault for not using it. Also I can see how being anime only can be confusing considering the Dragon stuff, but at the same time I think they did a good job showing that Kaido could literally tank any hit from Luffy with zero damage. Either way the staff at Toei works super hard to deliver the animation quality for these kinds of episodes so I'm grateful whenever they come around, even if certain parts are portrayed better in the manga in my opinion.

I read the manga as well and I think they still communicated what the manga showed really well. I can understand people not liking when the anime takes its liberties, but at the same time Oda himself said anime and manga are two different mediums. Making this fight more climatic and having them show that Kaido didn't even flinch from a King Kong Gun which flattened Doffy and destroyed half of Dressrosa is a huge feat.

Not just raw power but in speed too. The anime did it a bit differently, but in the manga, Kaido nonchalantly sits up after taking Luffy's hits, sighs and then speed blitzes him with the Thunder Bagua. Luffy literally couldn't react. At all. He had no idea wtf just happened.

I read Manga and Toei did a good job. @OpMinato303 that's just over dramatic. It didn't change the outcome. They didn't make Kaido bleed or hurt. That's the main point like how he is.

Kaido was sighing because he purposely let Luffy hit and expected at least something from Luffy. Yet all the attacks Luffy did was nothing for Kaido, so that's why he sighed. Remember Kaido's hobby is suicide (Shown in his introduction)

Kaido in dragon form is pretty big,add that to being drunk could be why kaido couldn't hit luffy properly, also probably the reason why he tranformed back into his human form, can't really imagine kaido taking too much damage in his dragon form that he would be forced back into his human form

the Fact Luffy must get beaten in Episode 914 but Toei Animation added some moves and clash to let that happen in 915 :(

fam thats why when i read that comment above that kaido let luffy hit him, yh that sounds right in episode 915, but episode 914, it felt like they were both going at it. Yeah maybe he attacked him because he was drunk, but as someone that only watches the anime, its bit confusing. Overall man luffy should have no ground to stand on against kaido, and the last few minutes proved that.

some scene in the anime show like Luffy now can beat Kaido and the clash between Luffy and Kaido, not cannon its the studio added the scene sometimes Toei Animation ruin the fact by added some nonsense moves

i see where you're coming from but in episode 914 it felt like kaido was actually trying to hurt him, was clear as daylight, when they were clashing. does luffy stand a chance? obviously not, hence why when i was watching the episode i was like this makes 0 sense. also in the manga you see him sighing at the end which gives it more of a reason kaido wasnt just bothered with the fight, but 914 you can see kaido actually wanting to hurt him. Only if the anime showed that scene.

Unnecessary like comparing Manga and Anime and then complaining it with each other? Yeah

Khan Just because Luffy hits Kaido doesn't mean he hurts Kaido. Kaido is drunk out his mind and just letting it happen but you can clearly see he does not give a fuck, even gear 4 hits barely move Kaido. You say 'this shows how far Luffy has come' but I think it's the opposite, it shows how even if Luffy hits Kaido with all he's got it's completely meaningless against the raw power of Kaido. (Not saying this is 100%, I'm anime only so idk just my thoughts.)

The "you became what some people hate the most" was unnecessary. (My opinion)

Also notice Kaido wasn't hurt if you look closer. He didn't even bleed. He just let Luffy hit

Khan you became what some people hate the most, A nick picking Manga reader. "tHiS wAsN't iN tHe mAnGa". That's why I didn't want you to read manga since you will obviously compare. "Divine Thunder" is a fan translation and "Thunder Bagua" is the official translation. Don't be ungrateful to the animators even if Toei does something differently. (My opinion)
