2021-01-03 05:54:35 +0000 UTCSo that was Senator Organa. He was also at the beginning of the movie when the Rebellion first captured Jyn. He was talking to Mon Mothma about Obi-Wan and that he was sending Leia to get him, That is why she is looking for Obi-Wan on Tatooine in A New Hope.

2021-01-03 05:52:12 +0000 UTCA New Hope probably takes place about an hour after the ending of Rogue One. A New Hope actually came out in 1977. The actor who played Tarkin died in the 90's so he was entirely CGI in this movie and played by another actor. A different actress was the one underneath Leia's CGI when she showed up at the end, even though it was Carrie's likeness. A morbid coincidence, Carrie Fisher passed away 11 days after Rogue One came out.
