AEW Newark, NJ TBS debut note (since title match was announced)
Added 2021-12-23 17:08:23 +0000 UTCLast night when Hangman v. Bryan Danielson II was announced, I made note of the count at that moment on Twitter:
AEW Presents Dynamite/Rampage [TBS debut]
Wed • Jan 05, 2022 • 7:00 PM
Prudential Center, Newark, NJ
Available Tickets => 2,175
Current Setup/Capacity => 9,805
Tickets Distributed => 7,630 (78%)
Since then, it currently stands at:
Available Tickets => 2,078 (-97)
Current Setup/Capacity => 9,805
Tickets Distributed => 7,727 (79%)
While it may not sound like a lot, moving about 100 tickets is 3x the amount what they move in a day for a typical show (sometimes more). The majority of AEW sales happen during the presale/general public on-sale and shortly after. It is very rare a big match announcement moves a ton of tickets (Bryan Danielson v. Omega was announced late for Arthur Ashe and only moved a few hundred, Hangman v. Bryan I was announced late for Winter is Coming and also moved a few hundred) and my theory on that is the majority of AEW fans plan ahead and buy their tickets early. We'll see what kind of movement happens over the next 2 weeks but we now have the starting point (7,630 tickets distributed) since the announcement was made on Dynamite.
