Choose your Political Theory Podcast!

Hello Audio subscribers. Victor and Matt, the Pill Pod's political theorists, have proposed a patron-exclusive series on a topic chosen by you! You probably know some of their interests already: the history of liberalism v. conservatism, John Rawls, Richard Rorty, Alasdair MacIntyre, the politics of recognition... I could go on.

Please comment below, and like the suggestions of others that you would be interested in hearing. Fascism? Populism? Reactionaries? Interested in some refreshers on Machiavelli or social contract theory?

Make a suggestion or two and they'll pick something with some interest behind it!

How about some post humanist politics? A political podcast that confronts the climate/extinction crisis as an extant threat and not just as an opportunity to extend the right to be human to a river somewhere? Hannah Arendt (limits of rationality), Val Plumwood (human chauvinism), Donna Haraway (animals and cyborgs) Jane Bennett (politics of the non human) David Graeber (Social Ecology, Rojava- N.E Syria, Murray Bookchin), indigenous politics and connection to place (particularly with regard to Canada, Australia and the US), Timothy Morton and Marxism for non humans, Bruno Latour (non human actors and reimagining a connection to place), Levi Bryant (democracy of objects, reimagining wilderness)

I'd love to hear more about Posthumanist political philosophies such as Timothy Morton's Marxism for Nonhumans, etc.
