In this piece, the sergal Ryudian is sharing a salad made of spherical Eltus seaweed. They are one kind of Eltus seaweed that grows on Salt Lake ColVilous’ coast. They have a satisfying “popping” texture and is often prepared in a variety of meals, including serving it with fish platters, or making it into a salad. They are like little bubbles that pop in your mouth.

This seaweed will get deflated when it is heated and it ruins their popping texture. Because of this, people eat them raw without cooking them. Some may add flavor to them using sauces, such as a dressing or soup stock.

Eltus plantlife including edible seaweeds are precious and are treasured by Eltus folks. Any ingredients found naturally in the Eltus biomes are considered the highest grade foods for Eltus people-- and their price reflects this. However, this particular type of seaweed doesn't have the same restrictions for harvest compared to other Eltus seaweed species, as they are farmed on a large scales, and as such are can be quickly restocked.

Expert Vilous fans with a keen eye and keener memory may recognize this type of seaweed. Indeed, this seaweed is the same species which can be seen in this artwork. Like this seaweed and okome (Eltus rice), some Eltus ingredients come in a perfect spherical shape when they have been raised with ideal growing conditions.
