I do love some of the other people I follow and appreciate the different kinds of reactions they have to the mile stones. But it can be a little jarring when some show so very little emotion during these heartbreaking moments. Thrilled that your next ep is a Chritmas Special actually at Christmas. Be great if you released Christmas Day if possible.

Those finals scenes of Rose falling towards the rift, and then the beach scene, are iconic in the annuls of Doctor Who, and generally get most people weeping. You now have the opportunity of watching the Christmas special (The Runnaway Bride) actually during Christmas! Something few people catching up on the show retrospectively get to do. It can be a bit jarring after the emotional rollercoaster of the season finale, but keep in mind that for those of us who watched it as it aired there were several months between the finale and the Christmas special, so we had time to grieve and adjust. I hope this has got you committed to the rest of the show going forward - each series just gets better and better, and there are more tears and laughter awaiting you!

2019-12-20 01:33:08 +0000 UTCYeah I enjoyed this finale. What a heartbreaking ending, but at least Rose is still alive. I still would like to have a set group of characters that we see each episode and get to know throughout the series, but it’s not that type of show😭

2019-12-20 00:43:15 +0000 UTCI knew you'd find this emotional... this kind of episode is the proof to me that there is a lot of character development and character driven stuff in Doctor Who. It wouldn't work in the same way if the characters of Rose, Mickey, Jackie and even Pete hadn't been well drawn and developed so well. I love this episode. You alluded to it in your reaction comments, but make sure you get the right episode to follow this - The Runaway Bride, the second Christmas Special. It's kind of important that you get all the specials as pretty much all of the specials are pivotal for some future plot developments in some way.
