I love Klaus´s character a lot, I enjoy his construction as a character. Now when I say this I am not saying he is redeemable or justified or a good man or someone I would like to exist in the real world, not at all. One of the reasons I love a fictional character like Klaus is because we can have a glimpse to pure evil or wicked emotions and situations, and decision and what it does to a person without having to be real. We can go into the deepest of those emotions. Klaus is old, ancient, and bitter. Eternity is so intriguing to me and how it works to people very different, but a constant is that is not a pleasant thing as one may believe at the beginning, to live that much must take a lot of the meaning of life. And Klaus is very lost in his eternity, He has bathed in blood; he has crowned himself with power for centuries. He always chooses himself except when he doesn't, very rarely and like now with Tyler. Does he is now a good person, no, but he is a man who has chosen someone else for a short moment. He tends to chase his idea of power but power does not give you freedom, and freedom, should he ever have it, would not give him love. I love Elijah's character as well, when he told Klaus that it was such a hollow little life that he leads, he didn't say it with cruelty but with compassion and pitty, his own traits as a character shown there, I love how some people can hold that virtues within themself even after so much time, just like Stefan, I have always admired those characters, Klaus and Damon's characters aren't like that, they don't have them in themself naturally, they had to fight for them in Damon's case, which is one of the reasons I love his character so much as well. Elijah has chosen weakness over control, memory over mercilessness. Elijah is not so alone as Klaus. He has chosen the noble path, which Klaus doesn't seem to ever do. He is left in his endless circle of bitterness and resentment as if he cannot be saved as a character. Which I enjoy as well, I love redemption, I love when someone is just good ad pure and I love happy endings, but I also love those character who arent always made to be saved, who can't always find their redemption who can't seem to make the right choices because life is full of those as well, maybe not in that magnitude but in more little actions, when someone can't seem to go past their fury, or hurt.

The next episode is a backdoor pilot to The Originals, so the majority of it will be focused on building the spinoff and introducing important characters. Just thought you should know so that you’re prepared lol. I find it strange how they glamorize humanity. Rebekah asks Matt if he thinks she could be good, as though the word good is synonymous with being human. But the reality is that humans can be pretty shitty too? I don’t like how much they elevate humanity as if it’s the peak of purity; it’s not all black and white. This ep is really fun but also extremely frustrating bc WHAT. THE HELL. does Elena think she’s doing. Not only trying to kill Bonnie once, knowing that she’s an unhinged powerful witch, but trying to kill her again? Girl that’s just embarrassing. Fun fact this is the episode that officially made me love Rebekah. She was just so cute! And I truly believe she wants to be good.
