*I didn’t realize til later, but why did Damon show Elena the fire extinguisher before they burned her?! Of course she knew they wouldn’t really hurt her😂
Nina Dobrev once again killed it this episode. She’s really good at emotional scenes. I cry my heart out always watching that scene. What’s best is they use the same music when Elena turns her humanity off and they play the same music here when she turns it on(Hate) lol. I like how Damon told her NO that’s not what he meant 🤣Rebekah was so adorable this episode love her so much. Last 2 episodes are fun and interesting. Can’t wait!!

This episode was done so well! I always cry when I watch Elenas reaction to Matt and her finally letting all the emotions and pain in. 💕💔

Before I even watch I HAVE to poke at your comment "why did Damon show Elena the fire extinguisher before they burned her?! Of course she knew they wouldn’t really hurt her😂" Because! As we've been shown time and time again, Damon is not the SHARPEST tool in the shed. He swears he is, but come on! Damon has his dim moments.

....This response isn't to you Libby😂 but Patreon isn't letting me comment unless in in a reply. So just pay me no mind.
Rebekah just doesn't have an evil spirit to me. She just doesn't have an evil heart. Actually now that I'm thinking about it, I'm not even sure that we've ever SEEN her kill anyone. The only horrible things I can think of is whenever there was a school dance and she compelled the high school girls to come and model the clothes for her, which is trash. Or when she compelled that girl to go in the bathroom while bleeding, in order to tempt Elena, but in both cases we never actually SAW her murder anybody. As far as running Matt's car off the bridge I see that more as survival. Alaric was coming after her and she couldn't kill him so she went after Elena because they were linked🤷🏾♀️. I mean Elena had helped to kill at least two of her brothers at that point, whether they deserved it or not, and stabbed her in the back, so it makes sense that she doesn't care about saving Elena's life. Plus thats nothing our main cast wouldn't do to survive or save one another.
I'm just having a hard time trying to remember what makes her so evil or awful in the first place up until this point in the show, but maybe I'm just not remembering a scene in which she killed someone. I definitely love her more now, just because she's not as bratty and childish, but if we're being honest, we've seen Elena kill more people ON SCREEN than we have Rebekah😂😂😂 and let's not even get into Stefan or Damon. And I love all of them, I'm just saying. Maybe it's just the fact that she's an Original or that she's always compared to Klaus that we view her as bad. I do it too, but I'm just now realizing that I don't think we've actually SEEN her kill anyone like we have everyone else on the show. She hasn't done anything that we've seen up until this point that even compares to Klaus...or Damon...or Stefan...or Katherine. Hell we've even seen Elijah kill people.
However you don't have to be a killer in order to be a bad person👀...like in life. But in the show, it seems like a persons virtue is determined by how many people they hurt or kill, and for starting out as a "villain" she just doesn't fit in that category. In fact I've always felt more sad for her than anything. That's interesting to me, because the audience is meant to see her as bad, at least in the beginning, and yet our main characters have done worst things than her.🤔 I wonder why the writers did that, maybe because they knew they were going to turn her into a sympathetic character 🤷🏾♀️
But anyway I love this episode because Matt's worth is realized at least a little. I don't get why everyone hates him so much, but I really like Matt, at least for now. And him and Rebekah are so cute. Its special to me that Matt was the only one who could turn Elenas humanity back on. It wasn't her two epic loves that did it, but it was her one first love, and childhood friend 💕🥺 Also Nina killed it again this episode. Glad you enjoyed it. See ya next time.

When I first watched this show I had pretty much convinced myself that they'd be getting Stefan back together with Elena but as with Damon/Stefan back in season 3 I didn't want Stefan to do something BAD to justify Elena leaving him for Damon. Originally when the truck goes off the bridge I thought Stefan was going to let Matt drown and save her instead and then that would be why she goes to Damon. (hated it, so happy they didn't go that route) During this episode though I really forgot that Elena had tossed that ring to Damon after taking it off of dead Jeremy in 4x15. I knew there was NO way Matt would have taken vampire blood for any reason (like when Kol broke his arm). Anyways so yeah I thought they had Damon actually kill him right there and I was piiiiiissssseeeed lol. I was thinking okay she will NEVER forgive him for that. I was happy to be wrong about Stefan and even happier to be wrong about what they were doing with Damon.
Upon rewatching... I have no idea how the hell I thought all that!!!

@Sara fahad I assumed she kept him alive cause she needed more blood cause she was all vervained and bled dry. Like a Matt fountain drink lol, his blood cells begin to replicate and the she can eat more.

I LOVE this episode. It’s so intense and there’s some great moments! The scene when Damon kills Matt and Elena finally breaks is so well done - I love the fact that it’s the brothers setting their differences aside and working together to help Elena.
Rebekah and Matt are lowkey so cute together LOL. I love the fact that he’s inspiring her to want to become a better person.
Caroline went through some SHIT lmao. She had it real rough, and the scene with her mom is so heartbreaking.
I love seeing Bonnie and Katherine interact. We don’t really get to see that often, so it’s really cool to watch. I especially love it from an acting standpoint bc Nina and Kat (aka Bonnie) typically do scenes together as Elena and Bonnie, which is the complete opposite relationship, so it’s great to see a diff dynamic.
One of my favourite moments of this ep is when Katherine says “I don’t turn it off. I deal with it.” That line just resonates with me so much. I LOVE the message that it sends: no matter how bad things get, always try to push through bc you have it in you to handle it. I just think it’s really inspiring and goes to show how strong Katherine is, both physically and emotionally.

Well, this was a great episode. I loved that we could see more into the heightened emotions thing on vampires, that has always intrigued me. This process with Elena makes me wonder several things.
First Elena is so lucky to have this support system around her, to have people that guide her through the darkest parts of being a vampire and that want to help her so she doesn't suffer more after she comes back.
Which makes me wonder first, Stefan had Lexi all his existence as a vampire to be his support system, he always had her when he went into the spiral of no humanity, and she always forced him to come back. How would he have turned out if he had never had her in the first place? Would he have been the same as we have met him now? How long would he have been gone without his humanity? That is so interesting to me.
And well now it doesn't surprise me that Damon had so many relapses in his process of turning his humanity on. He was doing it mostly alone. This also makes me wonder. If Damon would have had that support system would he have been different, better? Or is this just set in blood from their personalities and he would pretty much be the same? I know that when Stefan turned his emotions back after Klaus's compulsion thing, he focused on revenge as well to not be so overwhelmed with his other emotions and guilt. What did Damon focus on? I don't remember. And how he figured out how to adjust back after so much time without his emotions and the consequences of his actions? I found it so weird. I kind of want to go back and watch the first season to see some hints of that process for him. If it was his first time turning his emotions back, he musnt has known the healthier process to balance them again.
I think I do understand more how serious it is to live with so heightened emotions, watching that scene where Elena snaps back and how overwhelmed she is by them is so hard, so heartbreaking,
And how Katherine could live that long with all these things happening to her and never turn his humanity off?
Is like the quote from The Haunting Of Hill House: " No live organism can continue for long to exist sanely under conditions of absolute reality" Like if something has existed in this absolute reality far longer than it might take most live organism to cease to exist sanely is basically insane, maybe Katherine is so damaged because of that. Maybe this copying mechanism was given to vampires because they are bound to live forever with this constant struggle with their new nature that demands all these dark things from them, is so they can continue existing sanely. That in itself is insane.
I mean I totally agree with Elena that turning them off is so cheap, and doesn't help at all but she only realized that after learning from doing it, if I was a vampire I would love to believe I would be strong enough and good and I would never turn them off, but honestly but when put in that situation I don't blame Elena, or Stefan or Damon for turning them off, I often find hard as a human to deal with these things, to be a vampire and face that it must be pretty hard. Anyway, I enjoyed a lot the whole exposure of the turning back humanity in this episode. Great conflict to put in perspective.

I think Elena kept Matt alive because if he died his blood won’t be as good or as fresh if that makes sense.
Silas is definitely the strongest villain in the show yet and I love it because it’s a change to know there’s someone stronger than Klaus.
Damon and Stefan did a good job but it’ll be interesting to see what happens with the sire bond since Elena’s humanity is back on.
So excited for the next two episodes!!
Btw just curious if you’re still reacting to bloopers bc the last one was for season 2
