Rhaenyra should've foreseen that Borros or whatever his name was would’ve been offended by her offer though which is why he betrayed her and allowed Aemond to come make a deal with him. That seemed obvious to me. She was sending her son to remind Borros of his loyalty and offered him nothing in return. They live in a world where people can be bought. She should’ve foreseen that he could’ve been bought by someone else imo

2023-01-12 19:05:24 +0000 UTCWeighing your options is much much better than heading straight into war when you don't even have a quarter of the army the Greens have would have been foolish. She sent men to the remaining houses to get support and that's how you win a war. Having more dragons might mean you defeat them, but you need armies to hold a castle-like Tywin suggested many times and which is right. Moreover, they have the biggest dragon in the world and could take all the small dragons clearly. Rhaenyra was the voice of reason here, and given Luke did because of that decision, there is no way she could have foreseen that Aemond would be there. It was the shortest flight, and Borros is a traitor. Daemon comes from a place of anger and frustration, which is good, because I would have felt that after my brother and my child die. But even he said to hold Harrenhal before just outright attacking. Rhaenyra made the right decision to wait for support and then go to war. Now she will have the support and the right motivation for the war, that's when you do it. You don't just take your dragon to the Red Keep and burn shit up, you weigh up your allies and then go for it. That is the most sensible thing to do and that is what Rhaenyra is doing.

2023-01-12 13:37:07 +0000 UTCIt’s not better than game of thrones in any way to me especially season 1 which was so heartbreaking to see Sean Bean die. I cared about the characters in that show. This show is entertaining but because of the time jumps doesn’t give me enough time to care about the characters as much. Aemond is evil to me. How could he think he was just bullying Luke when he threatened to take his eye out and then chased him with his dragon? Luke slashed his eye when they were kids because he was defending his cousins. Aemond is much larger than Luke now and a more experienced fighter and he was willing to attack a 14 yr old kid. I don’t care that Aemond’s dragon didn’t listen to him. Luke’s dragon only shot fire at Aemond’s dragon because it felt threatened. It felt threatened because Aemond up until then was commanding his dragon to terrorize Luke and his dragon. So for him to not think that things may end badly if he chases Luke makes him cruel and stupid to me. Can’t stand him. Entertaining to watch but I hope he dies violently.

Both of their dragons were fighting each other and not obeying. I like that they’re making the dragons less obedient, Viserys said it in the first episode,"the idea that targaryens control dragons is an illusion". I also thought Rhaenyras “plan” was dumb but I guess the point of sending her sons on dragons was to threaten the lords with shock and awe, but I guess it doesn't work when a huge rival dragon is already parked out front. I find Aemond really interesting because he LOOKS like an anime villain with the eye patch and the scar but he’s not an outright evil person. the worst thing he’s done in his entire life (before this episode) was fight with his nephews💀 And the actor did a good job conveying Aemond's confusion and fear with just a look at the end there like “bro I just wanted to bully him😦” The moment when Daemon chokes Rhaenyra because he didn’t know about the prophecy was a good reminder to people (twitter users) that daemon is a horrible violent psychopath and not a uwu baby<3 I love the Daemon / Aemond dynamic. It seems like aemond admires his uncle, and they have a lot of similarities. in ep8 After Daemon beheaded Vaemond Velaryon in the throne room, Aemond looked like he was both impressed/mesmerized and turned on😂 and their little stare down at the dinner scene was chefs kiss. I hope we get to see them interact more in season two. overall this season was really good. it exceeded my expectations. Amazingly written/casted/filmed.. do you think it’s better than GoT S1 tho? My only complaint is that we have to wait two years for S2🥹
