Very odd episode, very reminiscent of what we now call 'bottle stories' - they created this one to fill a gap left in the commissioned first season, as they blew most of the budget on the Cavemen and the Daleks... It's certainly a good step in the right direction with the characters, as we finally get some development of them as more than just kidnapped teachers. But uh, they are still very much kidnapped teachers... C'mon Doctor, take them back home! This is the only story of Doctor Who to entirely take place within the TARDIS, with just The Doctor and his companions... We've had a few episodes focused inside, but never this restrained. Usually because they have more budget, haha It's quite funny to me that the wiki page for this episode lists the villains as The Doctor and Susan.. Hartnell is really great at acting like an absolute asshole here. He often reminds me of Yoda back in 'The Empire Strikes Back' - he's got experience and can sometimes be wise, but is often just a rude little shit! Next up is actually an episode that no longer exists, 'Marco Polo'. I imagine you're aware to some degree, but a *lot* of Classic episodes are unfortunately missing, as the BBC used to write over (and sometimes destroy) single copies of stories. So the next story will be 'The Keys of Marinus'. It's a shame to miss an entire story, but if you're intrigued you can always check out the plot summaries online.
