I’m so glad you love Emmett cause SAME! He’s not perfect as no one is on this show, but I just adore him. And you’re right, “Deafenstein” was made up but I think it was inspired by “Deafula”, an actual movie made in the 70s as a Dracula parody in ASL with a similar reputation. Deaf cinema is definitely a thing!
