Hello there, everyone.
First off, I am so sorry the timeline for this update got so out of hand. Originally, v0.21 was only supposed to have about three scenes, a few leaked chats, and it was missing a lot of planned events. I heavily underestimated how long it would take to implement those scenes. I thought my workflow was more optimized than this. You all had to suffer because of my miscalculation and hubris, and I feel really bad about that.
If it were just a few major bugs, that would be one thing. But this was a series of dumb decisions on my part, combined with systems and workflows that were barely tested. To make it worse, v0.21.0 became so big I could have easily split it into two and a half updates. If I had done that, at least you would have had something to enjoy while waiting.
You probably have not heard from me the last couple of days because I have been locked in, working almost non stop to make it right. Since my decisions got us here, I should be the one to bear the burden.
So again, I apologize for leaving you all out in the drought like this.
Now, lets get into NTR Mobile v0.21.0, which became the biggest update so far. Do not let the image count fool you. v0.20 used live ShareSpaces that gobble up images like nothing. This update does not have those. It also has scenes (those DO gobble up images) but the scenes themselves do not count on the counter.
The update was so big in fact, around 2000 messages per path, that it broke the current dialogue. It was literally unplayable and forced me to create a new chapter. That is when I found out the old chapter system was broken and needed a rework. This reworked system will allow me to easily split Liz's old dialogue, which is a big plus for a future update.
Back when I started NTR Mobile, I already liked the idea of taking you out of the phone UI to experience things you just cannot in the phone UI. However I did not want to do it like a typical visual novel. I wanted a different approach. I hope you all like the approach I went with, which I did kind of hint at in older Patreon posts. This new system is not fully done yet. It is still missing a few things:
Animations.
Background sounds.
Saving across saves. This is a harder one since you can make decisions in them that are specific to your run. I am currently designing a fix for this.
The ability to: hide text, close the scene, auto play, control volume, or disable them entirely.
Those are the things that come to mind at the moment.
Quick hint: If you get to a point where the forward button is gone, that means you need to make a decision to continue.
A timeline function has also been implemented. You can find this in the backup app. The way it looks is kind of meh, but it is functional. I am planning to upgrade the looks. If you use the timeline function to go back, you also lose all progress up to the moment you decide to load. So be sure to SAVE before using it if you do not want to lose anything. The way I used it was to finish a path, then save. Now I can use that save to go back to all those previous points.
NTR Mobile v0.21.3:
So after a shit ton of debugging I have finally isolated the issue which was causing problems for some of you. I still can not replicate the issue so that made debugging last a bit longer then normal. However NTR Mobile v0.21.3 should resolve any issue you might have had with playing the game. IF YOUR PHONE HAS A TALLER THEN NORMAL SCREEN LIKE A SAMSUNG Z FLIP PLEASE USE THE EXTRATALLSCREEN APK! This is a temporary fix so you all can enjoy NTR Mobile today while I look for a solution tomorrow.
Fixed a few chatlogs not opening.
Fixed some images not triggering.
NTR Mobile v0.21.1:
Fixed a few Leaked chats not displaying image correctly.
Fixed M257 not popping up on lovers.
Fixed duplicate scene playing on Happy/NTRS.
Fixed story not continuing after Sam's event on Lovers.
Should fix start-up issues on Android.
NTR Mobile v0.21.0:
Added image filtering in the Gallery.
Images now unlock in the persistent gallery the moment they are available. No need to click them.
Added a timeline, accessible from a tab in the backup menu. I am planning to move this to a more accessible location.
20 scenes (not all of them are unlockable as a single scene as some flow from one to the other).
Lowered the cost of hacked chats from 75 to 20. The older price point felt counter intuitive to what I wanted the system to accomplish which is to provide a different POV for events happening in the game.
Added the new scene system, name pending, which supports:
Sound effects.
Animation effects.
Decisions.
Added a Scene gallery.
Implemented a system that takes care of phones with tall screens. This took so much time during and after my vacation.
Reworked the chapter system to split chats for faster loading and more efficient playback.
A buttload of bugfixes. Just to name a few:
Game not working on tall screens.
NosyFellow chat not working. It works for this and future updates.
Chapter system reloading the same conversation over and over.
Sam chats refusing to trigger.
Scenes replaying repeatedly.
A few gallery issues.
ShareSpace notifications not showing previews.
Some polish here and there.
And of course... the story continues... FINALLY!
Now that this update is finally done I am going to spend the next week reviewing and optimizing systems and workflows so that I can implement scenes faster and can better estimate how long some scenes will take to create and implement. Not to mention some hardware upgrades since I really pushed this pc to the limit the last couple of days.
If you run into any bugs please feel free to report them on our bug channels on Patreon community and/or discord.
I hope all you awesome people enjoy this update! π
