MKIII instructions part 1

Well, it’s a good sign when I get around to instructions. We have a design I’m relatively happy with! In the  Patreon share instructions folder you’ll find the MKIII body assembly instructions. I’ve included the BOM required also! I‘m improving with feedback :-) anyhow, enjoy and happy printing, thank you for all of the support.

Mike,

For the basic body (without dome, legs. Greebles etc).

Only 7 rolls? of 1 kilo? I thought it was arround 18kg?

Hi, yes certainly did all of my V2 in .3 and to be honest MKIII will be fine in .3, I shifted to .2 as theorically it gives better layer bonding, as the nozzle is .4. .2 squashes the layers together tightly giving more surface adhesion per layer, .3 less so, so .2 is to give extra strength rather than ease of finishing. As it’s printed vertically the grain runs across (like wood), the threaded rods are therefore to add the strength needed top to bottom but the .2 was to add extra. You’ll see on v2 I shifted the models so there were printed at various orientations to give the core strength needed. I can’t do that on single prints. All that said, I suspect .3 with threaded bar will be fine.

On the Mark II, the suggested layer height was mostly .3. I thought that gave good detail. What was the impetus to going down to a .2 layer height. It seems that would just drive 30% longer prints. It's hard to tell from the photos. Are you saving finishing time with the more detailed prints?

And thank you for the inbuilt supports :)
