I love writing Thomas just because of how aggressively self serving he is. He’s not a bad person, he cares about his friends, but his second thought (after excitement because Mansa getting promoted!) is that he will become a high council assistant. I’ve never written a true neutral like him before!

Looks like right now Mansa is supposed to become a part of the high council with Thomas as his assistant. But it seems like we will get Thomas as a high council member with Mansa as his assistant. I suspect that Mansa turned the position down after Song left. I imagine the pressure of finding a partner would have been to painful. Since Mansa doesn’t want anyone but Song by his side.

Students must take an exam to be admitted to the judge program (red jackets), then the top 5-10 of the class become mid level judges (blue jackets), the high council (gold coats) is elected by mid level judges but the judge retiring must nominate someone and if they don’t get approved then someone else is nominated, and lastly the assistants (green coats) handle large legal cases that are high profile when high council members don’t have the time (which is often!)
