Projects and Behind the Scenes Update #1

I thought it would be interesting to give a weekly, or biweekly update to what is going on on my table besides the streaming, filming and video editing. So I will make this a regular installment to keep everyone updated.

So, what else has been happening during the last 2 weeks?

• Prereleases: Besides the regular PDF- and Video-Content that is Patreon-exclusive, I have been working longer hours to get ahead on my Youtube release-schedule, which means the Youtube-videos will now come out as prereleases as it was planned. The Podcast went well, except for some audio issues that I hope to get rid of for the second one. I already have the next one prepared and it will be recorded in the next weeks. Thanks to everyone who has been giving me feedback on the first one and feel free to suggest topics and guests. I will always give Patron-suggestions priority.
  I know that not all of you are in fact always going to be interested in the content that will come out on Youtube (to take the next release as an example: A lot of you might already know how to edge-highlight), but always remember that it is additional content and not replacing Patreon-content.
  
• Golden Demon Preparation: The biggest thing on my mind right now is what to paint for the upcoming UK GD. It's not helping that GW still has not released any rules nor even a date. I want to enter the Paint-Master category but since there are no rules out yet, noone knows what the miniature for the category will be and that is a bit frustrating.
  Besides this category, the Duel I already finished and the Gryphcharger that only needs a base I want to enter 2 more categories: 40K-Single and Diorama.
  As for Diorama I imagined I would either do a squig herd, rolling down a slope and the piper standing in the middle OR a sorcerer of Tzeench opening a portal, through which Tzaangors are coming OR something that involves Imperial Guard, including a banner. This would tie in to the plans I have to make a Patreon video about the multiple ways there are to create interesting banners with different materials.
  I did start to assemble a Delaque gang for the Necomunda-category, but I have heard rumors that this category might be dropped and I am not sure if I want to compete with them in the 40k squad category.
  What has given me the most headache is the 40k-single category: I wanted to revisit nurgle as it would have made for an excellent Video series on how to apply everything I realised during competing in the GD last time. I was looking for a figure that has different textures and space to put freehands on. As you can see in the picture I got rid of all the parts covering the back of the cloak of a Lord of Contagion for that purpose. But assembling the miniature I realised that it won't have the desired readability. Too many areas being obscured by other parts (arms, axe) that will make it busy and also hard to paint without subasemblies. Back to square one... Feel free to suggest a model that would fit this category and has what I am looking for!
  
• Planning the Upcoming Patreon Content: As I will put more emphasis on the Golden Demon I will make sure to cover all the interesting aspects of my entries in Video and PDF format. If you are not seeing any of them in the streams, that's because I want to push my quality level hard this time. Which obviously can't always be done on stream, because viewer interaction is important for me. Additionally the Basics-Series will continue, in the next part I will specifically adress the applycation of brush-control to more complex objects and chalkiness.
  
• One other thing that unfortunately did not come into fruition was an interview with Max Faleij, who is the headjudge of the Golden Demon competition about what they are looking for in Entries. GW took 7 weeks to come back to me on whether it can allow the interview or not and in the end they just said "No"....
