At 1:00:00 you guys talk about teaching the concept of death to children. We also had goldfish when I was a kid but I also learned a lot from watching lions hunt on animal planet and other nature channels.

2024-12-16 19:48:00 +0000 UTCAll the depictions of the races look so good in this show. I rarely like Elves in Anime, but here they look so good. Even the Dark Elves. The way the artist draws the noses is so unique for Anime.

2024-06-22 08:24:04 +0000 UTCI am calling it now kabru was probably used as an assassin by the elves he knew exactly where to go for to hit vital organs and with such precision to avoid hitting ribs and finding out how he was cared for by a what seems to be a high ranking elf it would also explain his skill at analysis of people and manipulation of them I definitely don't think he is loyal to the elf's now though so it should be interesting to see what he is up to

2024-06-17 02:27:21 +0000 UTCOne more thing you might have missed-- in the final episode of the season, when Chilchuck told Marcille about how short-lived the average half-foot is, the shuddering vision that it showed Marcille had looming behind her thoughts was a colored version of the Spectre of Death from the nightmare Laios saved her from in that earlier episode. It's easy to miss because we only saw the non-black-and-white version for an instant the last time.

2024-06-16 19:21:19 +0000 UTCMy ships are FalinxMarcille, and Laios with probably a sweet dungeon girl after he becomes king of the dungeon because who'd be more perfect to be king of that place on that level with all the people? He can't leave the dungeon because he's a criminal now and also he LOVES the dungeon ecosystem and monsters. I thought I might ship him with nekomusume girl who's name I forget except Asemi, but I don't think that ship is sailing very far.. it hasn't even finishing being built let alone put to harbor lol I just.. I don't think I can imagine Laios in a relationship π he could be Ase. Lol Also somewhere in there Wesley seemed surprised Sirens were different from Mermaids I think? (I was half paying attention, half working) so to that, in all folklore, sirens aren't meant to be related to merfolk at all. In fact, originally they were bird women who then turn into fish women but when luring men, they sit on the rocks and look normal and beautiful, using their voices to draw them into the rocks so they can eat them. Eventually they lost the bird aspect and just were known for their fishy aspect, and in modern times, people started to use the term siren to say "bad mermaid" but in actuality, they aren't related. Merfolk went through a lot of transformations, but in Greek lore, merfolk were essentially sea nymphs, nature spirits (aka lesser deities) that were children of certain Titan Gods. Nymphs are notoriously petulant, haughty, and territorial, so they used various magics to either pick on humans, or protect their territory. Sea nymphs would hypnotize sailors and lure them with illusions and beauty (they'd sing but it wasn't like the siren's song) then pull them under the water to drown them, or use whirlpools, or summon sea monsters to attack, (One famous sea Nymph/mermaid Scylla was turned into a sea monster) and they'd use fog to make sailors lost until they starved, or crashed. Tales of mermaids and humans being together was just the nymphs taking a liking to a human, sleeping with them, and sending them on their way. Eventually, sea nymphs became looked at as benevolent so they had to create a new creature to be the evil ones, so the lore of merfolk was born. Mindless sea monsters that are carnivorous who use the appearance of beautiful folk to lure their prey. And then they became the fishy version of humans that have an under sea society. π₯° I love the lore of sirens, merfolk, nymphs, all that. They are one of my favorite types of creatures, and I like the idea of sirens being fish creatures that are more ferocious than merfolk. The fun thing about folklore is that technically none of it is wrong, just depends on how antiquated you wanna go. This show does amazing at diving super deep into each of the creature's lore. Oh! By the way, the famous Circe was the daughter of an Oceanid Nymph and the titan God Helios. She's the reason Scylla was turned into a monster. Anyway, just some fun facts. I LOVE Circe the book, 10/10 recommend Steph! :3 It has romance but it's very feminine power-esque. Annnd I got so excited on that topic I forgot the rest of my comments I wanted to make.. lol

2024-06-15 23:14:53 +0000 UTCThe "Sky Fish" in episode 22 and its absurd speed is because it's based on a cryptid / urban legend that came about from the motion-blurred appearance of flying insects in manual photographs' exposure time, leading to conspiracies about a many-winged creature shaped like that flying *faster than the human eye could observe* that could only be captured on camera. Fictional creatures based on these cryptids have appeared in a number of works by various authors, rarely used the same way each time. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rod_(optical_phenomenon)

2024-06-15 18:08:06 +0000 UTCAlso, this is basically the exact halfway point of the manga, season 2 should be the final season. Ah and there is a short teaser that shows about 10 seconds of season 2.

2024-06-15 11:21:00 +0000 UTCVery pleased with how this adapted the manga - a few things here and there got cut or shortened but overall I don't think you could ask for better. Hoping season 2 comes soon - it'll be a first I think for Studio Trigger which normally doesn't do 2nd seasons for their shows.

2024-06-15 08:26:50 +0000 UTCAnother thing about Laios relating to Dogs so much and being able to imitate them-- because autistic/neurodivergent people often have difficulty relating socially to people, sometimes they can get attached to easier-to-understand pets and better relate with their thoughts and behavior, which is perfect grounds for a love and/or hyperfixation with animals to develop.

2024-06-15 02:53:27 +0000 UTCAbout Laois dog performance from ep 18, Falin said to Marcille at school that respects him for perfect dog imitation πΆ I think that best part about Izutsumi is that she has more cat behaviour then human, so itβs making her interesting deconstruction of cat girl character πββ¬ Discussion about eating Falin after ep 19 was funny considering last episode :) First gargoyle changed in to the Mouth of Truth, ancient sculpture from Rome Quite long list of allyβs and dinner companions for pretty socially non-wise person as Laois, big development :) Thank you for reaction, it was very fun!

2024-06-15 01:29:57 +0000 UTCA fun fact: You guys wouldn't see this since you always skip the openings but the opening is the same all the way up until the cat girl joins the party at which point it changes, it remains exactly the same only they slip the cat girl in with the group as they go through the intro as though she had always been there. It's a pretty neat little detail how they just add her into the party for the opening.
