Almost like a time/reality bending entity interfered. Guess what? I wasn't talking about Pandora and you've seen it take place, happy theorizing.

2025-01-02 20:14:14 +0000 UTCThey use devil to refer to him in translation but they said majin that covers most evil magical beings including witches worlocks and even artificialy created beings an example from popular media would be from dragonball z majin buu (don't know if you know that anime it is just a popular one that comes to mind) a being can also be called a majin even when they are good if the method used to create them is evil. On pandora I think she is logically aware of emotions and people and there effects but when you think things too logically your thinking can be rigid making you blind to other effects it can have she probably thought she could break Emilia with seeing her mum die Infront of her pandora even said during Emilia s understandable freak out that she is a kind girl although it's part of an attempt to manipulate it shows what she thought of Emilia and why she thought it was the best course of action. Pandora's power is really interesting as it only effects her and effects of her actions still horrifying but at least it shows limitations

This is why there's an emphasis on saliva in the kiss with Roswaal here. Note that the flashbacks don't fully reveal Echidna's face. It's a minor detail, but there's a reason and a meaning to it...that will not easy to read in the anime. Again: Echidna isn't evil (nor fully good). She can cares about others. But her personality has been built more around her thirst for knowledge than around emotions, and she could not understand the feelings of others very well. This is why she can sometimes be seen as “ill-intentioned” while she's not really. The only character she seems to resent is Emilia. But why? Many answers are coming in the next few episodes ;) (including one of my favorites)...but not all the answers yet.

2025-01-01 22:01:18 +0000 UTCAs I mentioned before, Roswaal and Subaru WERE very alike. Roswaal believes that everyone is just fundamentally weak and can't achieve anything unless they give up everything towards ONE goal and desire. Subaru was on the track towards going down that same path.. but after the witches tea party and Otto's confrontation he realized his methods were wrong. Now he stands together with Otto and Garfiel in a confrontation of ideals against Roswaal. On one corner we have Roswaal the cynic with the belief in human weakness.. that nothing is possible unless we focus on one goal and accept that sacrifices need to be made for that one goal to even be possible. Then there's Subaru the optimist believing that together with the power of your own will and the strengths of others, saving EVERYONE is possible. Both perspectives exist as a result of their experiences. What makes Subaru so incredible is that he has faced SOOO many traumatic things.. its insane he still can carry the optimistic view. With the amount of times he has broken down and almost tried to give up, that makes him even more badass. I think that's Subaru's brand of insanity. Roswaal's insanity, while cruel, is psychologically understandable. Coping with a lack of self worth, trauma and loss by disassociating yourself from making connections.. losing your humanity in the process. That's quite understandable. Subaru's insanity is something else. The strength to still stand up with hope even when the world has kicked him down so many times.. where does that come from?

(feel free to watch it after the season ended though) 13:56 We go from a sad and wholesome moment to this. That was wild to watch. And yeah, I guess that's how powerful Emilia really can be. Though I guess Pandora made her forget about her strength, too? 23:10 I love the conversations Echidna has with Emilia, too. You can tell she's still salty about not getting Subaru :P 29:44 Ohh, that's an interesting theory about Otto. I don't think that there are higher powers involved. But it's possible that those with divine blessings are exempted. I'll keep that in mind for future episodes. 1:03:25 I got the same impression. As you said when she first appeared in front of past Roswaal "hook, line and sinker". And remember she kissed him right after he threw up, that wouldn't have been nice even to her. I think she's using everyone, but also acting for their sake at the same time? Like she isn't completely honest with herself, like when she is with emilia. And there is also the option that she, like she offered Subaru, is mutually using people and allowing those who she likes to use her as well. It's a bit twisted, but I guess that comes from the fact that she perhaps doesn't understand all these emotions. Like she had shown with Subaru at the end of the tea party. She wants to know all this, because she doesn't understand. It's innocent in a way. That's why I also think that she doesn't think of Rosvaal as more than a student. She isn't acting with him like she is with Subaru at all. And we know from her long-winded confession, that he is the one who intrigues her the most, and makes her feel and act irrational, sometimes to her own demerit.
