Granted, this is 5 months ago, but when Hisoka says they can become "intimate" the japanese word that is spoken is "naka yoshi", meaning good friends, or close friends. It can just also be used as intimate xD, and given Hisoka... "nature" that word unfortunately does fit in the context.

I think most things that were lost with the generations were still widely known by the generation the didn’t get to really grow up with it but still heard about it. Like how me a GenZ never had to use the fax option on printers and for a long time didn’t even know what it did but I still know of it because I saw it so many times and heard people like my mom talk about it.

2025-01-05 22:34:57 +0000 UTCI'm usually happy if they're in the ballpark 😂 I always go by the Japanese pronunciations (how the katakana is read) so for Killua would be "Kiru-ah" for me. I only feel the need to comment on it myself when they are way off, but I agree with the other comment. They try their best so I find it's better to comment "informatively" like "Just so you know, they pronounce it this way" rather than expecting them to adjust their pronunciation 😅 they watch so many shows and read so many names, it would be a pain to go through and phonetically adapt to all of them. Especially when the show itself changes the person's name based on Japanese/korean pronunciation conversion (ie. Ging is Jin in katakana but the Japanese ん sounds like ng almost or some shows give them a completely new name for some dumb reason)

You were the one who compared them as being "on par" in the first place, and now you’re trying to pick some arbitrary point in the story to argue that it’s not as good? What if we take about 150 episodes when HxH finishes and compare that to One Piece just before starting the Skypiea arc? Would it still be "superior"? As I said, I love them both, but it’s like comparing David to Goliath. It’s just not comparable, and if you choose to do so, it literally speaks for the smaller show. Nobody is saying that One Piece doesn’t deserve the success it has - it does. peace out

2025-01-04 00:02:44 +0000 UTCIn episode 37 we have Gon and Killua chilling in Whale island In One Piece episode 37, we have Arlong park walk without getting into details and spoilers territory just in case, but the crew displayed a greater display of friendship than any scene in HxH objectively speaking. Same amount of episodes, superior display of friendship in One Piece. It didn’t run 1000 plus episodes by sheer luck🤷♂️

Obviously, you can develop more characters with more time and episodes, duh. Also, One Piece hasn’t been the best selling manga since 2018 anymore, unless you mean overall sales ever, which then also kinda comes back to more volumes released leading to more sales (if both manga are equally good). Just saying, it’s not a good/fair comparison in my opinion.

Depending on whatever method you craft and the conditions you meet, you can control objects or even other people to varying degrees. Manipulators tend to rely on logic, taking their time to review all angles of a situation in order to calculate the best possible outcome. I did it again and changed 2 answers I was 50/50 on and got Transmuter next 😂

The whole main crew (strawhats) friendships are superbly developed, only Gon and Killua’s relationship is on par with what’s the whole crew is like to each other 👍 I love both shows, but come on let’s be real here.

2025-01-03 02:33:14 +0000 UTCFun Fact: my 1st ever scene watched of HxH was the Hisoka moaning during the Gon fight… 😭 watching that out of context weirded me out & made me not wanna watch it (& made me question the people who shared it with me), but glad I decided to go back and give it a shot, cuz now it’s like my favorite series. 😂 Wes is right though, it’s a crazy unique approach to a mentor character! He has a reason to help/guide the main character, yet he’s fickle enough to where you’re always on edge & never comfortable- he’s so whimsical he’s hard to read. 😂😭 Bit creepy for Sure, but Hisoka do be one of my favorite characters now, so well written. P.S. Only time will tell if the “Nice Guy Hisoka List” gets new entries or not!
