Are You Sure? Episode 6

Comments

T and F? Jimin is a total T. He thinks alot, probably on par with RM and Suga. Jk, very F. He goes along with things and doesn't think about it to deeply. More like Jin. Probably why they get along so well. Tae and Hobi, they're the two for me that can go either way depending on topic and/or situation

Marissa K

Now i’m googling for chicken salad. 🤣 i wanna try it someday. 😋

Daybyday

To be fair, Americans like mayo and ranch dressing way too much. Give me a good light vinaigrette, and I'm golden.

Marissa K

Lol so I already commented twice, but I'm finishing this on a new day and got to the carrot part. I used to love all veggies and would eat the hell out of carrots, but now I don't like them because too hard to eat anymore, and I actually don't like them roasted or steamed ect. Because it brings the sweetness to the front. Raw, I can taste both sweet from the natural sugars, and the bitterness of being a root, and I liked the bitterness they have raw, over the sweetness they have when cooked. I also have annoying sitcom energy when I go into the world lol so much so, my ex (a writer) would write me into their stories. Like I'd be reading an updated chapter and see a scene like the main character getting lost on their first day of yoga, wandering into the men's bathroom despite the MASSIVE sign in front saying it was the shower, changing whatever room for men, then getting caught by a few instructors who thought the character was being a complete creeper because she tried to STILL go into the room when they told her what it was but she didn't really hear them because she had her earbuds in and did the smile and nod thing.. so then I would message my ex like "...why is this VERY familiar and embarrassing story in your chapter?" 😂 So ya, I feel you. I also have several Y/A fanfic main character moments from my vkei days. Like, I have this awesome talent for getting to meet and hang out with band members I love, but then also putting myself in the most...memorable.. situations. Like accidentally groping Miyavi (if you ever seen "Unbroken", he's the Japanese general) because I was so flustered after trying to give him a crochet doll for his daughter my mom made, but handing him my friends donut to get it out of my way, then realizing what I did, so I traded him, then tried to give my camera to the lady to take our photo, but dropped something from my bag so I forgot to put on the flash for her, rushed to apologize to Miyavi for having to pick it up for me (why apologize? I dunno, I felt bad to inconvenience a superstar I guess? Lol) then rushed back when the flash didn't work, fixed it, then was so worked up, I didn't realize he was leaning into me to take the photo, and I was trying to wrap my arm around his back, overshot so much that my arm wrapped around his hips and uh.. bumped him. Instead of playing it cool, I dramatically swung my hand up his stomach and awkwardly rested my hand on his ribs, so everyone in the room knew what happened 😭 hahhh... I think I'm starting to understand where my social anxiety came from 😅 I'm scared of the insane situations I find myself in lol

Chels

may i ask the source to this? Not them about going to Tokyo, but the rest of them being against it and they fought back. Thanks

Marissa K

when jimin and jungkook went on their trip to tokyo together in 2017 they actually went with no staff or bodyguards, the other members and staff were firstly against it, but they fought back and wanted to go just the two of them, and they said interviews later that anyone who met them was very considerate and gave them their privacy

kookmineve

jimin and jungkook are each others biggest fans

kookmineve

very likely they could be talking about "your name" because jimin and jungkook have listened to music from that film multiple times together

kookmineve

Jimin and Jungkook both have equal spice tolerance levels, jimin has even said before that jungkook made ramyun for him that was too spicy for him that made him cry

kookmineve

its even more special that they filmed this together before then enlisting together through the buddy system, meaning they have been together every since day enlisting and will be until they are discharged

kookmineve

I am from india and carrots is one of the most regularly used and loved veggies,I really like them!

Vishwa Joshi

hey! are we still getting episode 7 today?

d

I see this when they have a long drive & the scene zooms out to drone shots, u can see how many cars are following Jk & Jimin's car at the back 😂

Danie Vasquez

And just fishing everywhere 😂

Danie Vasquez

Ohh wow exciting!! Can't wait! My Army Bomb is ready lmao

Danie Vasquez

Interesting! I’ll have to try some European mayo

Wes And Steph

I’ve literally never heard of it but it sounds so fun!!! Who doesn’t love a bonfire and fireworks??

Wes And Steph

😂😂

Wes And Steph

😳😳😳

Wes And Steph

That’s it for sure!!

Wes And Steph

That sounds right! A lot of people use cranberries! And homemade marinades sound AMAZING

Wes And Steph

I mean that’s also delicious

Wes And Steph

Hahah just screenshot this whole thing and save it for our trip in 10 yeass

Wes And Steph

Oooo macaroni in it would be interesting! We have macaroni salad but that’s usually separate from chicken

Wes And Steph

It sounds so fun!! We’ll have to work it in cuz I think we’re going to do a concert next!

Wes And Steph

When you said chicken salad I thought “oh now I want a chicken salad for lunch” and then when you started describing it and said mayo i was like “nope lol” my version of chicken salad is chicken, lettuce, cheese, red cabbage and croutons, I really can’t picture myself eating mayo in anything that isn’t a sandwich it’s so weird to me how in the us mayo is like in every dish but maybe I should give it a try! Also since you asked what do we do in November in our countries in Mexico we do Día de muertos and it’s honestly my favorite holiday ever, it’s actually magical how you can actually feel like you’re having a meal with a loved one that isn’t here anymore

carocatowr

I believe the translator made a mistake. They should have called them onigiri (Japanese) instead of triangle gimbap (Korean). The Korean one has sesame oil in the rice. The Japanese one doesn’t have sesame oil (just salt to season the rice). Similar in concept though. I’ve never seen “triangle gimbap” at convenience stores in Japan, except maybe in Korea town. However, Korean food is growing in popularity in Japan. Impressed with Wes - he knew it was onigiri!

mo Iranai

Kimbap and Gimbap are the same. The Korean pronunciation is between a "K" and a "G" and you can hear both from various Koreans. Also, the romanization of the Korean language isn't consistent. Sometimes you see KimChee and sometimes GimChi.

mo Iranai

Guys, after u watch AYS, can y'all watch Jin's guesting in Half Star Hotel in Lost Island episode?? He's only on 2 episodes! It's available on Kocowa & Viki! Hope you'll watch it soon! 💜

Danie Vasquez

Japan does drives on the opposite side comparing to the USA

CC

Yes thank you :) I usually comment as I watch so I hadn't seen that moment yet when I made that comment

Lela

Honestly I need a separate show where Suga and Jin travel together to different countries and try their brewery . I need to see suga in Ireland or Germany 🙏

spoopyjhope

Yes, that was the crew right before they entered that small restaurant. The restaurant owner reported later that they accommodated a total of 25 crew members other than Jimin and JK, so yeah, there's actually a lot of people behind the scenes. Haha.

Kashalia

I agree

Joenne

that was probably ppl. they had one just like that in 'in the soop'

Maya

He called him that again @54:52 and they didn’t miss it that time (:

ParkMinJeon

comment on the chicken salad actually here in the philippines we call that macaroni salad cuz we do the exact same what you said plus macaroni elbows and sometimes we add pineapple too however we do not eat it as a proper meal. it's like a snack here

nikkaaaaaaa

When you said chicken salad, I thought of salad with chicken even though I've had chicken salad before 😂 I like it with dried cranberries though. Also, I'm stunned at how perfect Jungkook's Japanese is. I respect that he puts so much emphasis in getting the pronunciations down pat, because I think that that's extremely important and tend to focus on that as well. The rest can come after. But not just his pronunciation. There are many word choices and people are often taught the incorrect or uncommon phrasing and vocabulary when they start out, which is a pet-peeve of mine (damn you Rosetta stone, you piece of junk that wasted my time and effort) but he sounds like a native speaker. Only a tiiiiny accent too. But I couldn't stop myself from yelling at the screen when they said "what's akai?" "Red! How are you so good at grammar, but don't know red?!" 😂 red miso is my fav though, tmi lol

Chels

I hate when reactors eat, and react at the same time. Especially when they have to focus on subtitles.. Pls guys, I beg of you to not eat the food while reacting. Just make it a Mukbang video of you trying the food. Short and sweet. Sweet and simple. 😭🙏 you could even go live here on Patreon if you wanted ! (or Wes&StephK) And we could all eat together lol

ParkMinJeon

Like @Michella Lewis said, JPN and KOR share a lot of similar food, but they're only "similar" so gimbap/kimbap tends to have plain rice with very seasoned ingredients that lean towards pickled and spicy, where JPN onigiri are seasoned rice with simpler ingredients. Gimbap would have spicy tuna or kimchi while onigiri would have tuna mayo or pickled plum, for eg. Yes! Jpn conbini (convenience stores) are amazing. They cater to every individual store based on the demographic and demand, so you can find literally everything between house supplies, to warm, fresh bento boxes (meals) except they never have toilet paper lol you have to bring or buy your own. I don't recommend anything more than a quick look-see of Shibuya unless you love trendy fashion and fit into Jpn sizes (Jpn Xl would be American M) But I think you guys would love Harajuku, Akihabara/Akiba, and Shinjuku, which are other stations in Tokyo like Shibuya. Harajuku on Takeshita st. Has a lot of street food, cosplayers/Harajuku fashion people who walk around on Sundays to take photos and mingle, and lots of interesting and cool shops, while Shinjuku is entertainment central, you'll find nice restaurants and cafés, karaoke places (they're private booths with fancy drinks and snacks to order), arcades and things to do. Akihabara is a nerd heaven lol anything you can possibly obsess over, it's there. It's technically a tech hub, but pretty much any niche hobby or interest can be found there, so you see a lot of anime and manga related things like cosplay stores, manga Cafe (library where you eat) maid/cosplay/butler/dansou cafés, BJD stores, stores with robots, Gundam minis you put together.. it goes on. The festivals in Japan are basically holidays, but the one around fall is called Obon where they celebrate harvest and the Kami surrounding farming, the change of seasons, food, ect. This festival is famous for a big folk dance (think line dance) about working the fields until the moon rises, and basically it runs all day long until the moon comes up lol. You don't have to dance the whole time, but some people try to go as long as they can. Besides that, they have their own Thanksgiving which my friend calls Labor day. It celebrates the hard workers who work for the food they eat and the clothes on their backs. Lastly for the Japan based comments, to answer Wesley's question about Japanese beer, my friend who LOVES beer and everytime he gets drunk, he has to tell me all about them, so I have it drilled in my head even though I don't drink beer and don't understand lol His favorites are Asahi and Kirin. Both are pale lagers and smooth. Asahi is suuuuuper dry (I did taste this one. Too dry for me so not sure why smooth?) But it's his favorite. It's made with rice and not very bitter. Kirin is not as dry as Asahi and it's sweeter, apparently tastes like honey. He hates Sapporo because he says that it's not nearly as dry as the other two, but 3x bitter, but it's also a smooth pale lager and he says it's produced by the oldest brewery in Japan. 😅 hope all these answer your questions or are interesting to you

Chels

I live in Maine and we have 7-11s. 👍

Phyllis St. Pierre

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think the reason they have fewer staff accompanying them is because Japanese people are very respectful and wouldn't bother artists or invade their privacy.

Joenne

I don't like carrots too. The color doesn't look like appetizing

Joenne

51:58 this is so cute Jimin would be the best girl dad

ly1111

Kimbap and gimbap are the same don't worry, just different ways to romanise the same sound 😁 I think the Sapparo episodes are my favourite, they landed in Japan the same day I left there but I didn't even know I was in the same airport as them until later 🥲 It's lovely how safe it seemed for children in Japan, you'd see them just on the train or going to restraunts completely on their own, you'd never see that here in the UK

Becky

47:32 wes joking about jimin and jk being parents only for jimin to talk about wanting a daughter minutes later lol

Charmaine

I think it was RM's birthday when Jungkook gave him the kiss on the forehead. So it was like an extra funny "happy birthday" hahaha (someone correct me if I'm wrong)

Lela

Btw fun fact korean and Japanese share similar foods but just with different names. What Korean call a triangle kimbab, the Japanese call onigiri. Same with Korean fish cake, In Japan they’re called oden.

Michella Lu

Mukbang while reacting is a yes from me!!!

Michella Lu

1:25:15 this is the video they're imitating: https://x.com/ai_jiminily/status/1831665467918053425?s=46&t=vlwR06_3uneIX0pl218imQ Though I have NO clue how they ever even came across this 😭

Lela

I mean Jimin didn't like the gorgonzola burger Steph 🤣🤣

Lela

43:11 nooo you missed Jimin calling Jungkook Kookoo-san 😭 that was so adorable

Lela

Loved this episode! Also I really hope you guys do eat while watching run Jin, it’ll be fun! About the Kimbap vs gimbap, it’s the same thing. It’s only spelled differently because of romanization and translating. The k and the g are typically interchangeable when it comes to Korean being romanized because neither is entirely correct. Sometimes you’ll see Yoongi’s name spelled Yoonki or Jungkook’s name spelled Jungguk. But we typically spell it Yoongi and JungKook in English.

Sarah Sanchez

I also felt like they had less staff in Japan! But you see them more often in the frame at times haha

Lela

My first thought is Caesar salad if anyone says chicken salad tbh

Michella Lu

omgggg steph same whenever i hear shibuya i just think about the shibuya incident in JJK lol

Waffles

I think the staff brought the box of sunglasses like Wes said. This is solely based on the fact that Jungkook thought so many of them didn't fit him and that would be weird if they were all his haha

Lela

The next episode is my favorite can't wait ! Also the showcase Jungkook was telling Jimin about that RM attended and wrote him a letter, I hope you guys can react to that next please. It was really good.

Mubashirah Sampson

Sooooo true lol!!!!

shayna

Yes do a mukbang... we watch BTS do you really think we are shying away from eating-noises 😅

Jane Ling

1:36:57 I love listening to your stories also I would love to see you guys try the kimbap next episode and on the carrot topic I wouldn't say carrots are bitter but I don't really think of them as sweet either but I noticed that I find a lot of stuff bitter while most people I know find them sweet. from what i understand the flavor receptors in our taste buds can vary from person to person so it means we will all have different reactions to the same food. There is actually known gene mutation that makes cilantro taste soapy to people

ly1111

So i actually used to find carrots bitter when i was a child and completely stopped eating them at some point. The way they taste has changed to me over the last few years and they taste sweet with no bitterness at all.

Aly

The next episode would be perfect for a mukbang. We can all dine together lol.

shayna

There's a variety show on Netflix called "Old Enough" basically about young Japanese kids [ 4, 5 year olds etc] perform daily tasks on their own for their parents. Obviously camera crew is close by just in case. But it was so amazing to see that.

shayna

Hi Wes & Steph! My favorite internet couple. I love your little stories. And being YT SUBSCRIBER and Patreon Member since the beginning, I can recall almost all of the Lil stories you guys have shared with us. Coming from South Africa... mayonnaise is quite popular here as well. We use it in quite a bit of salads and I personally love adding some to my homemade marinades. I would defo try that salad. Think I had something similar in South Africa, but it had arugula in,and instead of raisins, it had dried cranberries and the most amazing vinegarette. Wow. Tasted amazing

shayna

Yeah and Japanese Mayo uses only egg yolks while American mayo uses whole eggs

Carmen Johnson

Also, I didnt watch JJK but Shibuya is like one of the coolest places to go in Tokyo, as a tourist. 😅 now I’m curious about what happens in that anime

Rinakin

When you mention chicken salad, I picture the lettuce one. But here in Guatemala we have "pasta de pollo" which is the same as you described without the walnuts. It's more like a spread you put on bread or toast but I don't particularly like it 😅

Alexa

22:16 I saw a comment saying that Jimin was casually wearing a 89,600 dollar patek phillip nautillus steel watch and playing in the snow😂

ly1111

The salad sounds ... diffrent. But in Germany we also have Mayonaise based salads - for example with potatos, pickles and ham ... so i guess we should be quiet 😅

Jane Ling

About japanese convenience stores….. i went last year to japan for work and when i tell you, i fell IN LOVE with them!! Its craaaaazy just how good the food is 😭 i’m so sad we dont have them in europe

Rinakin

Bts has talked abt a holiday called chuseok! it's in the start of fall i think! Like how christmas is big in the western world, chuseok is like korea's christmas! Do yall remember when Jungkook's mom called him in jeju? She said "Will you come home for chuseok?" so she was talking abt him coming home to Busan to celebrate. In korea christmas is more of a couple holiday than a family celebration.

may

your chicken salad sound very unique 😂 also I'm pretty sure they announce their travel dates days in advance so that how everyone knew they were going to be in the airport in Japan

ly1111

Wesley you are right. It is Onigiri and Sapporo!

Helen l

girl dad jimin is the most precious image ever

d

Regarding holidays in November, I'm from the UK (england) and we have bonfire night on November 5th! You might have heard of it? Basically the celebration of guy fawkes not blowing up parliament???? 💀 we typically burn a scarecrow on a massive campfire, have fireworks and then parks that hold firework shows will have little fairs with candy apples and bonfire toffee and typical British fair stuff lmao - but yea like a lot of British stuff it's kinda just an excuse to hold a part of some kind and drink (and light fireworks), I don't drink so most years I just watch the fireworks from my window bc there's always some nearby but every couple years or so me and my mates will go to a park somewhere and do the whole watch the scarecrow burn and eat fair food thing It's nowhere near close to the importance of thanksgiving for Americans (from what I've heard) and it doesn't really stop Christmas prep or excitement, it's just a day we have a fun rhyme about truly

Gurocandii

So excited to watch this with you!!

Helen l

i’m so sad it’s almost over! this has become one of my absolute shows. i hope they stay true to jungkook’s word and continue this until they’re 50!

d

Omg finally ❤️cant wait till next react my favorite ep7! luv you guys react so much

나랑 스껄할래

Not done watching this yet but i wanted to jump here to say that yes, kimbap and gimbap are the same thing. It is spelled with the letter ㄱ in korean which is romanized into k OR a hard g because it isnt really 100 percent equivalent to one of them. it is pronounced like a soft k or a hard g. Thats the same reason you might see people with the same name spell it differently in english. For example Jungkook, his name is spelled 정국, which you could romanize as Jungkook, Jeongkuk, Jeongguk etc. It is difficult to directly transcribe a lot of the korean alphabet into one exact english letter, and there have historically been several different systems or manuals used to romanize it, so some letters differ depending on the person romanizing it. Hope this makes sense!

Klara

Kimbap and gimbap are the same

Carrol

Yes your chicken salad sounds ... not appetizing to me lol especially with the walnuts and raisins. Though in general I don't really like salads with mayo. I like mayo (fries and mayo is an elite combo, if you prefer ketchup, you're wrong) but not in salads. Though I've heard American mayo tastes very different from European mayo
