Proposed Changes to Hacking Mechanics
Added 2024-11-08 15:52:46 +0000 UTCRemoval of the Cyberwarfare Phase: The dedicated phase for Cyberwarfare will be eliminated (some players are a bit confusing with this rules), making hacking actions available throughout regular phase. Streamlined rules utilizing current dice mechanics with a small twist. No need to print additional materials.
Advanced Hacking Actions: Players will have more options and strategic depth when executing hacking attempts. Hacking will influence the game environment dynamically.
Dice Pooling System: Hacking attempts will now use a dice pool mechanic. Players will roll a pool of dice based on their hacker's skills, equipment, environmental factors and hacker program (some of them already exist). Game factors allow to add, deduct, re-roll or modify rolls. Outcomes will be determined by comparing rolls against target defenses or thresholds, with both successes and failures carrying immediate consequences.
Risk and Reward Balance: Hacking will be high-stakes. Successful hacks can grant powerful advantages, but failures may activate security protocols or attract counterattacks, adding a tactical layer to decisions.
Question: Do you support the proposed change to remove the Cyberwarfare Phase and implement these new hacking mechanics based on dice pooling, existing game mechanics?

Also I noticed that any of the Loyalty Reward STLs and the more recent Slasher one were sent as download links via message instead of added to MMF. I haven't downloaded any of them before the links expired how can I get those? Been a Patron since month 1. 0.o

2024-11-11 14:29:58 +0000 UTCFinally starting to check Patreon again. Been in a slump and just left it auto renew but saw this one and occurred to me could do something similar to what Heroscape has with there being a Basic Game Mode that the models have different stats but no abilities and a Master Mode that has the abilities added. In this case have a streamlined mode minus the hacking but the dice pool mechanic you mentioned to speed it up and then one with the hacking deck included. Just a thought.

2024-11-11 14:28:40 +0000 UTCYeah, it is something like that. We aim to keep this as straightforward as possible. No one wants to deal with the hassle of counting results from a chaotic roll of dice. Give us a chance.

2024-11-09 09:15:39 +0000 UTCSuggestion: Keep modifying of dice rolls to a minimum, because it causes mental fatigue. Use alternatives such as Dice Dropping - Drop a die from the pool to reduce the Target Number, Limit Dice Modifications - A die may only be affected by a single +/- modification. +/- Dice: Advantages are applied by adding or subtracting dice from the pool. Bleed Cookies: When players add die to their pool by various mechanisms, it grants the opponent a similar counter opposing resource, such as dice to use on their turn.

2024-11-09 00:42:01 +0000 UTCI hope so. I understand that removal of hacking cards may ease the start.

2024-11-08 18:43:20 +0000 UTCPlease give us a chance. We really enjoy the Cyberwarfare card game, but the skirmish mode needs quicker and more efficient solutions.

2024-11-08 18:42:50 +0000 UTCProbably, it is a good idea. We have to test it.

2024-11-08 18:06:22 +0000 UTCeager to try the new changes. I don't know if it's already been raised, but wouldn't alternate activations of the miniatures be better?

2024-11-08 16:29:21 +0000 UTCI think the card mechanic for hacking / cyberwarfare is a unique part of the game. It is however, unclear where to find the CW decks for each of the factions, or even IF there is a deck for those factions. I'd be interested to learn more about the proposed change, but adding more dice rolling seems like a step backwards.

2024-11-08 16:06:46 +0000 UTCI think, that complex hacking is what makes this game unique and removal of cyberwarfer phase will affect it negativelly.

2024-11-08 16:01:27 +0000 UTCAnd please, please create a HOW TO PLAY VIDEO... without that I m having trouble even playing the kickstarter board games. Also if you stream the cyberware rules, please make the board games compatible with them as well. If you are getting rid of cards or replacing them I m fine with print and play to make them work on the board game as well.
