Update on RYD state
Added 2022-01-20 22:54:05 +0000 UTCThis is a post to thank every supporter of RYD. With your help our backend was migrated to top-tier dedicated servers.
The uptime of API was over a month (compared to almost daily crashes on old servers, when load started growing exponentially).
We are serving up to 3000 requests every second, up to 200 million daily requests.
Over 8 Terabytes of data was served to the clients
Stats for over 500 million videos were saved (not counting the input by ArchiveTeam).
Over 100 million votes by extension users were submitted.
We have over 2.2 million daily users across all platforms.
None of this would be possible without your help and support. Thanks!

Thanks, buddy! Good to hear from you! Yeah, that LotR trailer... Yeesh. (I'm a HUGE Tolkien nerd, so I had a few "thoughts" about that trailer... LOL! ๐) Take care! ๐

2022-03-22 19:14:25 +0000 UTCHi Bryan, yes, I was waiting for userbase to cross the 7 million line to make the next big announcement, so, the next update is coming soon. One of the videos that caught my attention with lots of dislikes is LOTR trailer with 164K dislikes vs 108K likes. Anyways, stay tuned for the next announcement with lots of good news. Coming soon.

2022-03-22 18:54:10 +0000 UTCHoping everything is going well! Just stopping by to see if I missed any updates... Any news (good or bad)? How goes the battle? Is there any other news we should be paying attention to on this front? It appears that in typical YouTube/Google/Alphabet fashion that this change is permanent. I still use and appreciate the ability to see downvotes, although it's pretty clear that YouTube achieved its intended goal. Downvotes have definitely gone down in many cases. While they might publically say that it has stopped people from piling on a video and downvoting it, it's not really a positive thing in my view. Crippling functionality to address a problem is NOT the way to handle things. And I'm pretty sure that they really did it in an effort to assure Big Money Companies/Corps that their videos wouldn't end up being in the news because thousands of people downvoted them. ๐

2022-03-04 00:06:08 +0000 UTCJust was going to say that the awesome "Thumbnail Rating Bar for YouTube" extension seems to be compatible with Return YouTube Dislike: https://i.imgur.com/ccTWtcY.jpg https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/thumbnail-rating-bar-for/cmlddjbnoehmihdmfhaacemlpgfbpoeb

2022-02-14 19:07:48 +0000 UTCThis plugin gave me a lot of insights, so, appreciating your it very much! Seeing the dislikes on a video always helped me gauge the quality/controversy of a video, so it takes away the "is it just me?". Helps me filter information and content. So the dislike bar is a fundamental instrument to use youtube (and other content on the internet)

2022-01-21 09:50:53 +0000 UTCThose 2.2 million users is a testament to how many people hated youtube's dumb decision. And thats only the people that know about this extension and made an effort to add it.

2022-01-20 23:20:57 +0000 UTCThose statistics are truly nuts! You've done an awesome job handing a truly unwieldy amount of traffic and maintaining this project so well.
