It wasn't my Fault - The chess club - Part 2

OTHER PART | ALL STORY LIST

By Brett Schuhkraft

I know my jumping around with my he's and she's will be driving people nuts but it's part of the story of young teens finding out who they are and who they are being turned into.

Well, that's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it.

Hope you enjoy.

And I like feedback, good and bad it's all good.

The next day Mum dropped me off, and Jennifer was waiting for me. I got out of the car and thanked Mum for the lift. I said hello to Jennifer and asked if she had been waiting long. Jennifer said only about 5 minutes or so. She asked me to follow her, and we went into the schoolyard to a bench that was off by itself. An older girl was sitting by herself. Jennifer went up to the girl and said hi, Benji.

This is Alex. She's just like you. Benji seemed to relax when Jennifer said that I was like her. I realized then that this pretty girl was a boy like me. I offered my hand and said hi, I'm Alex she said hi, I'm Ben, but everyone calls me Benji. I asked how long have you had to dress and why. Ben said he'd been made to dress for seven years. Mum told me it was to stop me from going bad as the month before she started this, "as he gestured to his skirt," a boy in my street got arrested.

I said this is my second week, My mom thinks it'll stop me from getting bullied and beaten up like I was at my old school.

Ben shook his head and said parents don't make sense, do they?

Me, I didn't even know the boy or any of his friends that got arrested. Mum was having a rough time back then. My dad had been killed in an industrial accident six months earlier, I was only nine years old, and my sister was only one and a half years old.

The company that Dad worked for was only paying half of Dad's salary till her father stepped in. As a lawyer, he made them pay all the compensation Mum was entitled to. He died six months later, Mum was a mess again, and it seemed like every night the cops were in our street talking to a kid, so Mum came up with a dress to keep me on the straight and narrow.

Ben said and shook his head some more, and rubbed his temple. Ben told me if I have a friend that knows and won't tease me about it, keep them. Otherwise, it gets very lonely. I lost all my friends as I was ashamed to have them come over to my house and see my girly room.

I've only had two friends since I was petticoated, and they are John and Stacy. Jennifer's eyes lit up, and she said my John, Ben nodded and said yes, you're John, Jennifer.

Jennifer said do you know where he is and what he is doing. Ben shook his head and said no, I don't.  I wish I did. I want to talk to him again.  I don't blame him for running away. I'd have done it, too, if I had somewhere to go back then.

I could see Jennifer wanted to ask more, but I think she sensed the same thing I did, that Ben wanted to talk. You learn quickly not to trust anyone, Ben said. I don't even talk to my family as my little sister tells Mum everything, and I don't trust Mum because she did this to me.

Mum wants me to attend college and become a lawyer, and I like the law. I might do it if she didn't push so much. But she'll miss me when I'm gone. Ben looked at the concerned look on our faces and said don't worry.

I'm not going to do anything stupid. When I graduate, I'm out of here. I've contacted my dad's brother.  He's got a trucking company, and I'm going to stay with him till I join the army.

I asked, how come you're mum doesn't know?

Ben said my friend Stacy owns the local shop. She's trans, and she believes no one should be forced into being what they're not, so she's very anti Petticoating, so she lets me use her postal address to contact my uncle. It's funny mum doesn't understand why Stacy's friendly to me but is abrupt with her.

That's why Mum always sends me to the shop. Jennifer says I'm glad you're getting out from under your mum's thumb Ben nods and says I wish I'd contacted my uncle sooner.

I asked Ben if he talked to the other boys like us.

Ben said yes, we talk, but not much, but we do compare notes on what our mothers are doing he looked at me and said if your mother starts giving you vitamins, don't take them unless you want tits.

Jennifer was shocked. Your kidding?

Their mums do that, then she goes pale. Mum was giving John vitamins every morning before he left. Ben said I know, but John just kept them in his mouth and then spat them out.  That's how I know I can trust you, Jennifer. John said you saw him getting rid of the pills, and he asked you not to say anything. Jennifer said I’d never tell on John.

Ben said John made me promise to look after you if he wasn't around the next day he was gone.

I hadn't told you any of this before as I didn't want you to be put in a position where you might let something slip to your mother, and I wouldn't be able to protect you. But you're older now, and you understand things better, don't you?

Jennifer said yes, I do understand. I knew how unhappy John was. So were the vitamin pills female hormones? Jennifer asked.

Ben said yes, it's meant to make us less aggressive, but it ends up giving us tits and useless balls, so we might as well get cut and tucked That scared me. Ben saw the look on my face and said yes, Alex.

It scares me too as my mum tried it on me, but I didn't take them like John, and after 6-7 months with no change, mum stopped giving me them, so I saved myself that time, but two of the boys here aren't that lucky I know they've been taking the vitamins for the last 12 months

WHO Jennifer said. Ben said. Sam and Tom.

They've been here for two years said Jennifer Ben said that's right. Ben looked at me and said don't trust Miss Bright. She's a good teacher and will come down hard on bullying or teasing, but she fully supports Petticoating boys and girls.

Jennifer looked at Ben and asked how do you petticoat a girl?

Ben answered you put them in a nappy, and you make them wear little girl's clothes. How would you feel if you had to wear a first-year uniform plus a nappy?

I've seen her do it.

The main reason that everyone is well-behaved here is us. Ben pointed at himself and me. She has girls' uniforms and first-year girls' uniforms in her office.

The first time you're sent to the office, she shows you them and gives you your only warning. So from then on, they behave. As we are the unofficial secret, but everyone knows about us. So the threat of ending up like us is a deterrent, well, for the most part.

And everyone behaves. We do have the Brents. That is, the 5 of them are just low-key standover guys who get the geeks to do their work for them.

Ben looks at his watch and says the bells are about to go off, so let's dump our shit and head to classes. I thanked him for talking to us and said, can we speak again?

Ben nodded and said we could talk anytime if you want, Alex. As Jennifer and I walked to our lockers.

I asked who the Brents are Jennifer said they are one of the local minister's kids, theirs 5 of them. The older 2 are twins, 16 years, a boy Josh and a girl Jess. They run the pack.

They mainly get the geeks to do all their homework and assignments.  The next oldest, at 15 years, is Jeremey.

He is the computer geek and really is the book-smart one of the pack.  The next one is Merry, at 14, who really likes boys and flirts with them to get what she wants.  The youngest at 13 is Paul, and from what I hear, he's into gaming and motors, as in he likes to fix them.

I know some girls who love to fix motors as well, and they talk to each other when they have a problem they can't fix, and I know some gamer girls who speak to him as well, but they are very family oriented, so if you cross one, they all will be after you.

I said well, family is what counts.

I remember my grandpa saying that once but he also said. Family is what counts, but the family doesn't always mean blood relatives. It can be anyone that you regard as family, and they consider you as a family as well. We got our books and headed to our first set of classes.
