Inside a common eBay control panel switch.

Yet another cheap industrial component from China via eBay.

I get the feeling that the reason these components are so cheap is that there is less demand for them due to their specialised nature.  The Chinese eBayers seem to have a supply and demand system that raises the prices on popular items automatically, so this may actually be representative of a realistic price for a typical Chinese factory component.

I have a couple of the boxy version here in the pile of stuff awaiting its moment. I'm hoping they're not potted in resin inside.

What might be interesting to take apart is inductive and capacitive proximity sensor modules (the cylindrical ones meant for industrial applications). You can get cheap chinese versions - I'm using one for a bed probe for autolevelling my 3d printer.

Took me back to my days of control panel test. Those switches cost a fortune in those days!

Can you write a good link to the sellers you used there?

Great video and switch breakdown. I am always impressed by the really low cost of these parts. Lack of a legitimate approval mark in most cases puts a crimp on their use in anything you want to insure, but as you say great for little side projects. I have used a couple of the and so far the only complaint on one of the mushroom style push button was the panel back up nut was very light brittle plastic and could take any force which then shattered. No tools used either. Love your videos as always.
