2021-02-13 20:56:15 +0000 UTCAlthough shortly after this I nearly F-ing choked on a pickled onion slice (the juice thereof, actually). Mild panic during, lots of coughing and burping afterwards, and a bit of involuntary shaking. Do like a pickled onion though. It's OK to like this - I lived.

2021-02-13 05:13:02 +0000 UTCIf it's the vinegar smelling stuff it uses liberation of acetic acid to cure. Not sure about the conductivity, but the acid can corrode components. You can get two part dielectric potting gels for electrical boxes. If the case of the light gave you a shock, it's probably not grounded.

2021-02-13 00:34:46 +0000 UTCThis will make you smile Clive, I installed an outside light in a very exposed area, so I thought I would fill the junction box on the light with Silicon to water proof it. After switching it on a got a very healthy shock off the metal casing of the light!!! I had filled it with water based Silicon not the normal stuff.........lesson learned :-)
