Random "Geekbar" find.

While not being a huge fan of disposable vaping devices, this one I found on the ground was larger than normal, so I wanted to see what size its lithium cell was.
Keeping COVID in mind I treated this used item with caution. Inside is a very useful 500mAh cell. I have extracted it and will be doing some charging tests.

We're living in the future, where we can salvage energy cells from drug devices in the gutter.

Big Clive

Yeah. I'll shortly be putting it on test. I found a seller on eBay selling packs of them as reclaimed from the same vaping devices.

Big Clive

Gross 😷 but definitely worth it for the lithium battery 🔋!!!

I also have a White Geekbar Vapingthing I found abandoned on the pavement a week or two ago. The battery is marked up as 3.7v 1.78Wh or approx 500mAh. Battery was at 3.78V when I found it so it's not been discharged to death. I keep meaning to put a protection module on the battery and give it a capacity test but not got around to it yet.

A man after my own heart, My old truffle gets annoyed when I pick all manner of bits up to put in my to use later box she tells me I am too old (74) to be picking up rubbish not rubbish to me little useful treasures

Somewhere on clives channel, you can find a video of him doing exactly that

Have great holidays, whereever and whatever you are going to celebrate.

Funny you should say that, because it was exactly what I thought at first. Had to read the text to realise I must wash out my mind! Dirty boy!

Looks very much like a small vibrator. I sent my flute out for service and as covid rules it sat for a few days before they would openit. Same thing when it came back. Hope your feeling good and are ready for Christmas.

I love the old Adige one mans trash is another man pocket on fire, no of course these older machines would never dream of going on fire, but be careful of what you do pick up, some times it is a little more something than you expected, love the picture Big Clive.

Oh I picked one of those up as it looked interesting. I was going to attempt to turn it into a small portable smoke machine or similar as you can blow in the bottom and it works still. So some kind of small air pump on the bottom.

Funny timing, I picked up an aluminum corroded aluminum cylinder today while walking. A bit bigger 18650. Turned out to be some odd vape cartridge with a 280 mah lipo battery inside. Had 2.7 volts in it still. Probably been out in the hot desert sun for a year or more.

Glad I read the description before assuming that you'd picked up a used vibrator.

Nice find!

You sure it doesn't vibrate?

Amazing that these things are 'disposable'

JT

Ive found a couple "disposables". One had a cell: 12mm round by 30mm long. Bloody wasteful designs, the vaping industry needs to clean up its act in this area.

Makes me a bit curious about the inside of the Airizer "Air" (arizer.ca/air/) I got a while back. More for vaping cannabis though.

Yes, alcohol that thing throughly, at least your find was on the ground and not next to the medical waste bin like EEVBlog's tweezer find :-)
