The video that got me a strike

It's archived on Odysee.

Meanwhile, it's almost like a holiday. Comments on my channel have come to a near standstill and there's no pressure to keep up my usual upload schedule.

I'll still be making videos though.

But Clive's viewers ARE bright. He won't lose any by moving platforms, what he will lose is exposure that would grow/churn his viewers. It's in all creators interest to grow these platforms so that they DO offer a competitive alternative. What I don't know (because I don't produce video content) is whether they are viable in terms of income. With the same number of viewers, would they offer similar revenue ? Clive has always said he doesn't do it for the money but plenty of good creators do and that's an option that should be open to them.

Trimming hair with fire is not unknown. YT has several vids on the practice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Im9Uev5y4YE

I got an email notification about this strike, and here I am to add my support. YouTube gave you a ban for setting your beard on fire? Seriously? Well if I look at what they've done to me (age restricting my videos of me burning hand sanitizers) then I am not surprised. I have stopped uploading videos to YouTube because what's the point really. The scam videos- especially the ones of "free energy" and the ones of "3kW of free power from a fridge compressor" get millions of views whereas my video about the prepaid water console only comes in at 6k views. It seems YouTube will do anything for the copyright holders and everything to protect the so sensitive public in the world, because the world is such a bad place and so dangerous. Reminds me of McDonalds being sued because coffee, is, well hot. Yes, its true we need a new platform, but sadly neither Odysee or Makertube will quite reach the heights of YouTube because of the nature of the mass market today. Today's internet users are not very bright, and need protection from themselves it would seem. Also they will fall for the "free energy" stuff because clickbaity video thumbnails is how it's done

I understand why they banned you. I smelled it all the way here.

No fun allowed on YouTube huh

Mina

Sadly, YouTube is currently still the most viable video platform for making some income from your content.

Big Clive

Can't we all just go to another platform YouTube is dead now as all big companies become old and full of talentless management, Clive hope stay unique and don't let them get to you 👍 hope your well thanks for and the laughter and tears x

YouTube is... uhh becoming not amazing. I don't spend much of my time logged in anymore, but because I used a 3rd party app to watch videos, my IP's been banned/flagged as a bot IP (it's not) and now *requires* sign in to watch any videos and it really saps my "I'll just quickly watch" enthusiasm. They allow so many scam/malicious advertisements that I won't watch without a blocker now. I never used to mind when it was a few seconds and could skip and they seemed to have a decent ad moderation policy... but then again imo they've never cared about creators (besides the billions they help YouTube make) and the shadowbanned comments... Seems silly that your video was taken down when I've seen so much worse not only in videos, but in advertisements.
