Panasonic Nanoe unit teardown

This is Panasonic's version of the Sharp Plasmacluster style air purifying unit. Every big Japanese manufacturer has their own version of these units, with very wild marketing claims.

When it comes to the crunch they are all based on the early units made by Alexander Chizhevsky (1918) and Cecil Laws first domestic air ioniser.

I think it's time to get yourself one of those desktop X-ray units (not a percussive X-ray, like the hammer of knowledge).. Mike's Electric Stuff has one and it looks mightly useful, but very large. A dental x-ray and a lead-lined box would do the job..

This is the most absurdly over-engineered ionizer I've ever seen. God, I love Japanese engineering!

I've already made a video about the Osram unit. It was based on photocatalytic action. Very hard to prove it was doing anything.

There is an Osram version of this device on Amazon atm @90% discount. https://amzn.eu/d/04nsDQlQ

Yikes Clive, you kept poking around with your finger, while talking about high voltage, after having it powered up. I was waiting for you to get capacitor zapped.
