Tim collecting the Titan tubes after an act
Added 2024-08-04 19:06:13 +0000 UTCThe Titan tubes are addressable wireless light tubes that are used along the sides of the arena, and then picked up and used by the dancers in a later part of the show, before they carry them off and hand them back to Tim and his big bucket. They then get put back on charge for the next day, or if it's a Saturday they get put back out for the second show.
Meanwhile me, Steve, Cara and Katie are busy shuffling lights on and off the stage for most of the show. This was filmed on the first Saturday show where we don't have to do that.

Interesting form factor. The light tube is not dead as an idea. The world may have gone pixellated / rasterized, but smooth lines are still *nice*. At work we uncovered a couple of boxes of test kit for fluoro starters we made for BG Electrical back in the 90s, including a couple dozen green starters of unknown state (working, known faults, etc). If anyone's interested?
