Tim collecting the Titan tubes after an act

The Titan tubes are addressable wireless light tubes that are used along the sides of the arena, and then picked up and used by the dancers in a later part of the show, before they carry them off and hand them back to Tim and his big bucket. They then get put back on charge for the next day, or if it's a Saturday they get put back out for the second show.

Meanwhile me, Steve, Cara and Katie are busy shuffling lights on and off the stage for most of the show. This was filmed on the first Saturday show where we don't have to do that.

Interesting form factor. The light tube is not dead as an idea. The world may have gone pixellated / rasterized, but smooth lines are still *nice*. At work we uncovered a couple of boxes of test kit for fluoro starters we made for BG Electrical back in the 90s, including a couple dozen green starters of unknown state (working, known faults, etc). If anyone's interested?

Mike Page

Yes. Dedicated RF network.

Big Clive

We tend to charge them in their racks.

Nice silver jackets I could see myself going shopping in one

DC Allan

At around £1K each inc. Vat. You' think they'd have some form of dedicated charging bay, but I've not seen one.

Andrew Donaldson

The titan tubes are also amazing for light sabre fights 😂

Watching this short clip after seeing the news today has cheered me up no end. Just seeing people being excited by being creative and entertaining others - a heart warming contrast.

Keith Miller

That's awesome!

RF I’m assuming? I’ve always been interested in all the different ways light emitting devices are controlled during concerts. They all have very unique ways to accomplish the goal of individually controlling tens of thousands of devices at the same time.
