Contactless hand detecting switch

The circuitry in this was surprisingly well designed. It has anti-tracking slots, a fuse and a decent power supply.

This was another AliExpress buy. The listing is linked in the video description, and if you view it, it may add it to the bundle deals page.

Increase the value of the IR emitter diode to reduce current through it and thus reduce range/sensitivity? KW

The datasheet for that style of relay seems to indicate it as being suited to 250V AC. But I don't really care for such tiny relays being used.

Is there an issue with the relay only being rated for 125v ?

So proud of myself. When you were first describing the "GND" connection to the voltage regulator I thought, that's odd that the "gnd" is not connected to the 0 volt. Then you corrected your schematic, and I was feeling very proud of myself. (Most everything I know about this stuff I've learned from watching your reverse-engineering videos. Big thanks.)

Without a flyback diode, the relay coil energy will be dumped into the J3Y, which might be perfectly fine. It's only once every few seconds at most.
