Cheap hackable USB-C flashlight
Added 2025-04-26 05:52:39 +0000 UTCI've been burning the midnight oil doing cell tests on this unit. It would definitely be a prime candidate for adding a 550mAh cell from a disposable vape salvaged off the street.
They've cut every corner in this design in an impressive way - but it does work. You can swap the LED if you desire, as it's a very standard 1W one.

I think the dual battery torches usually have adaptors for specific cells.

2025-04-29 20:04:15 +0000 UTCIs there a lithium cell that's the size of 3 AAA cells ? I've seen torches that offer alternatives of an 18650 or a pack of AAAs, and I have some torches that also take a pack of AAAs. But an 18650 won't fit in the space.
