Chunky 3-phase industrial noise filter
Added 2025-04-30 00:30:36 +0000 UTCSomething different that I stumbled across on eBay. It's a bare module designed for electrical noise filtering in equipment with things like variable frequency drives.
It has some quite interesting features to allow the use of standard single phase filter capacitors on a three phase supply.

2025-04-30 18:23:55 +0000 UTCTo see the noise from equipment on the AC supply, Google "LISN" - https://www.rfwireless-world.com/terminology/measurements/line-impedance-stabilization-network-lisn I made one and quickly realised I needed to have a -20db attenuator on the output of the LISN otherwise the noise on the AC can overwhelm an analyser. Most switch mode PSUs generate some noise on the AC supply, even the good quality ones. The cheap Chinese ones are appallingly noisy and frightening when you can actually measure the noise and frequency of it.
