The Acolyte: Revenge/Justice [1x02] ✦ Watchalong Reaction & Review

Jecki towards Yord feels like Ahsoka to Anakin, to me. 😋 Just a bit different.

Intrigued by the show so far. I wonder what the story is between Jecki and Yord. He outranks her, but she speaks to him like they were siblings. Also a bit suspicious of this Qimir fella. When Mae attacked him, he subdued her with ease. Would not be all that surprised if he turns out to be her master in disguise.

Agreed, especially when looking back and seeing how easily he dodged Mae when she attacked him.

I'm very excited for Kelnacca!

I wonder if both thought the other was dead, then the Jedi are ultimately responsible for this and not Mae, like we are told.

I like the show so far. It is so fun to see the world of the HR I read about in books and comics in live action form. As far as theories, I would keep an eye of this Qimir guy. Peace is a lie is the first line of the Sith code, I think he could be one of the two Sith of that era.

Intrigued. Don't know if I'm hooked. But definitely not a hater. The first episode with the arrest and the hyperspace jail break and the parasite and the frozen planet and the...eh, it felt like a bunch of spaghetti thrown at the wall, I guess. But, I do like spaghetti. I also like the characters so far. Master Sol is definitely my favorite, and I kind of like Padawan Jecki Lon a bit. And Mae more than Osha (at least, thus far). Set designs are definitely inspired, but also looks a little like the director of photography has one overhead soft-watt bulb for the whole show, and no understanding of shadow. But I'm also really happy to have a Jedi story that doesn't revolve around Skywalker gobbledygook whatever. Non-lightsaber fights are pretty damn cool. Master Indarda's was very cool, but Sol's was even coolier. And I'm glad this non-Jedi trained acolyte gets her ass handed to her a bit by the Jedi masters before being forced to think up something cool--you know, like character growth and stuff. Definitely going to check out more, but hoping for a somewhat sharper hook down the road. Maybe a wookiee Jedi will do the trick. We'll see.

I wonder if this is a Kylo Ren situation. Both sisters thought the other was dead... I don't know, just kind of reminds me a bit of how the Emperor/Snoke played Kylo and pulled him in. Then again, that could just be a Sith trait in general cause, you know, Anakin lol
