Dark: Alpha and Omega [1x10] ✦ Watchalong Reaction & Review

What an epic finale, holy! I am so excited for Season 2. I have come to expect with this series that I will probably be confused until the SERIES finale, which will mean rewatching the entire show will be a completely different experience and I'm so excited for that.
Theories are running wild and I'm hyped! This is certainly one of the best shows I've watched in my life. [Direct link here.]
I'm so looking forward to your comments and I can't wait to get into Season 2 next week!
Cheers,

No need to apologize. It's a cheesy 80s bop that gets stuck in my head every time I hear it. That's all. I had never heard of it before the show either, but I think neither had most people (certainly English-speakers).

LOL sorry about that! I'm sure the songs will hit harder in rewatches. I had never heard of that song before. I have heard 99 Luftballons before though!
And yeah feel free to wait on comments! I'm sure Season 2 will be a trip.

Great reactions to the first season. It’s been so much fun watching with you.
There is so much I want to say, but I feel like I should wait until deeper into the show.
I do think that the Ulrichs look alike. Maybe it’s just that their posture and attitude are so spot on that I don’t notice any physical differences. I also never thought about it, but Regina has wild, untamed hair as a teen and Claudia has wild hair when she’s older, but when they’re both in their 40s, they both have very buttoned-up, conservative looks. Beyond the actors looking different, I think the characters are quite different in different stages of their lives.
Finally, I do love the theme song, but the other song I associate with the show is “Irgendwie, Irgendwo, Irgendwann” by Nena (who had a hit with 99 Luftballons) which seems to have totally unmoved you. LOL
Also, kind of jealous that you get to start season 2 next week and not wait for it to drop.

I think it has. 2052 def seems like the most different period of time so far, from the rest. Can't wait to meet some characters we know and new characters!

We do need more Claudia history for sure.
I agree about Regina, those actors have the biggest difference. Teen and adult Ulrich I can buy. While they don't look all that similar, they both act the character so well that I can believe they are the same.

I didn't catch on until he was talking to the scientist in this episode. I can't even pinpoint where in the conversation now, but it hit me like a ton of bricks. On rewatches you'll discover tons of clues that make it even more obvious we should've seen it sooner.
Noah just gives off sinister vibes and Claudia seems more genuine. But not sure I'd put my trust in either of them at this point. We need more of Claudia's history between 86 and 19.
That ending was a total wtf moment! I saw the gas mask in the bunker so I thought maybe 1920. But then the more modern vehicles and the power plant ruins made it clear he went to the future.
As you've said the casting on this show was fantastic. Almost all of the versions look like they could be at least related. The only 2 that don't quite work for me are Ulrich and Regina. Their younger selves just don't look anything like their older ones to me.
Can't wait for season 2! Glad you're going straight in. It gets even crazier from here, but it's so fun!

Also - old Helge said the priest was evil so if the priest is saying not to trust Claudia, does that mean we actually SHOULD?

No way....we literally got to see a rip in space-time?! Wait, what if "the center" isn't a place or time but a person? Is it Claudia? Maybe Claudia serves this "center"?
Everything is good = Alles ist gut. Even closely is spelled like "all is good"!
Lock his ass up and throw away the sodding key! Bye forever, Ulrich! Probably not the last time we see him but still, it's satisfying for now.
It's interesting Helge was able to hug himself. There's a theory that is future and past were ever to come into contact then that would be paradoxical and that either sets destructive consequences in motion or the two just cancel each other out. But here, little more than young Helge getting freaked out happened. Interesting. Is it just me or is everyone's brain hurting?
What really will fry your noodle is thinking about multiverses. If every decision we make creates an alternate universe where what we decided is the opposite, then there exists a mutitude of universes where Dark is going very differently, if not worse.
There's the Don't Worry Darling music again! Love it!
OHHHH So that's why all the kids' eyes are burned! They travel in time, like we saw in the beginning, but the machine doesn't fully work so their eyes burn out in the process!
You were right! Good call! It was Jonas All Along!
Wait.... NOOOO the future??? Nuclear war happened??

I'm very surprised at myself for that one, to be honest. But I'll admit I'm putting my brain really into overdrive with this show. 😂 I'm sure there'll be way more things to come that I do not see coming. 😂

Yes you called the Stranger as Jonas very early on. I didn't om my first watch. I got it in that conversation a few lines before he actually says it.

Charlotte and Peter were in the bunker in 2019.
