One of Carol's food trucks serves lunches at your school and it just so happens that Carol and your dad are working the truck on the day of your 18th birthday. Unfortunately for you this is also the day you got distracted in the gym while using the new speed bag they put up and it popped you in the face leaving a nasty shiner.
Of course when Carol asks what happened your dad lets out that you've been getting into boxing, but still aren't that good at not getting hit. A wry smile comes over Carol's face and the rest is history.
