It would be best to tell him the truth and make sure that he listens to the whole story about what happened. It certainly beats waiting later when he sees YQ in such bad condition and telling him in a moment of emotional distress could make things worse. At the very least, he could probably save his reaction for after you're done explaining everything.

I hate to advise you to lie to an ally, but you should be vague about how YQ got hurt. "I almost killed her, but now I'm really sorry and I promise I'm on your side" is not the most believable story. You can apologize for the half-truth once you're in the hospital where YQ can personally vouch for your change of heart.

Last time you told someone the full truth, it didn't go so well. So perhaps it's best if you let Young Queen tell him. If you tell him now, he may not trust you anymore and ditch you before you get back...or worse. If Young Queen tells him, she can assure him that it was truly a misunderstanding. He'll most likely trust the word of Young Queen than that of the one who tried to harm her.
