More astronomical than palentological, but if all the galaxies and stars are moving away from each other as observed in red shift how is it that we and the Andromeda galaxy are going to collide?

David Livingston

Off topic sorry but maybe show the evolution or just different ways animals throughout time have reared their young? Was it just lay eggs and leave? Did trilobites play catch with their kids? This kind if stuff. Thank you for the great videos. Inhave been watching with my youngest son for about 2 years now (since it started) and it has kept him interested in science even after he passed he dinosaur phase if childhood.

Is there any hope that with our current technology that we could engineer our way out of climate change? Would it be possible to do that even if emissions only fall somewhat?

I'm a middle school science teacher, and my seventh grade students LOVE the Eons channel, and I asked them for their questions. Here's what they wanted to know (please forgive them if some of the questions aren't totally relevant... they are only 12! Sam: Why do you not have more questions about goats? Paco: what did the neandrathals do Yi: How did platypuses evolve? Sadie: How can you tell the age of a rock or fossil if it has been broken off from its original source or rock? Seneca: Without fossils, is there any way of knowing about extinct species? Are fossils the only way we have of knowing about them? Sami: Is it possible for a mass extinction to occur if the Sun were to "go out" for one minute? Maria: What is the most efficient way to fix climate change Lia: At this rate, how long will it take for humans to go extinct because of global warming if we don't do something to stop it? Sierra: Since global warming is melting much of the ice on Earth would that mean that an ice age would not be able to occur again? Tessa: If we somehow went extinct, and chimpanzees or something similar survived, would we be able to evolve again? Brooke: How far back in time would we have to go to see the common ancestor humans and dolphins share? Ely: How long did the great dying last? Samuel: What is the evolution of goats like? Joely: Where did people think fossils came from, when they didn't know about sedimentary rock? Why? Nora: Is natural selection happening to humans now? Meirav (“Mer-AHV”) You write about how you have checked and see how old the oldest rock on earth is. How can you be sure that it is truly the oldest rock? Dante: Since fresh water is running out on our planet, is there an efficient way to take salt out of saltwater? Bianca: Is there any way we can tell that 2 animals have same ancestors without using fossils? Loor: How DID bird wings evolve? Maya: "How will humans and animals around us look if we continue to evolve?" Naomi: "What species on earth would best benefit from human extinction?" Naomi: "What is the oldest fossil ever found?" Bryson: "What is the oldest species still living?" Araya: “If humans ever went extinct, could we evolve again?” Araya: “What is the closest extinct relative to humans?” Naomi: “How old is the oldest Dire wolf fossil?”

Are the apparent contrasts found in Homo Naledi changing how we assess hominin evolution? They appear to have been practising burial yet had small brains, they had bipedal feet & hips with climbing shoulders & fingers. The completeness of Naledi fossils has brought these contrasts to light and I'm curious whether studies of Naledi are influencing how we assess species that we only know from more fragmentary fossils.
