Growth is in the Air p1

Growth is in the Air.

Nora picked at her fingernails.  Oh god. Oh god.  She looked at the tall gleaming chiseled man driving the car.  Tonight, is the night. Or is it? It is Valentine’s day, after all.  She gulped as a bead of sweat dripped down the back of her neck.  We have been going out for almost nine months now, and he has yet to pop the question. What is Henry waiting for?

Henry turned his head. “You are so going to love this place. Oh, the music, the food.” He raised his calloused hand to his lips. “Oh, it is so divine. Mhwha.” As his hand returned to the wheel, he narrowed his green eyes. “Umm, honey.

Are you ok? You seem tense.”

She shivered. “Ohh no, no, no. I’m fine.” She laughed. “Perfectly fine. Why would you think I’m tense?” She pulled at her arm. “I am just looking forward to tonight, is all.” Nora smiled at him.  And hoping that we could possibly spend our lives together.  She felt the ring bounce around in her pocket.  If he isn’t going to pop the question tonight, then I will. Henry Kisnger, I am going to marry your sorry ass, and nothing in this world is going to stop me.

About an hour later, they arrived at their destination, a quaint-looking building on the side of the highway. “This place is really out of the way, isn’t it?” Nora sighed. “Like really, really out of the way.”

Henry laughed as he shut off the engine of his pickup. “Ya, the Hearts Desire is a bit out of the way, but it has some the best food in the state.” He stepped out of the vehicle.

“And considering what day it is, this little stop is the perfect place to be.”

Nora slid out of the vehicle. “But still, how did you ever come to find such an out-of-the-way place?” She shivered as the cold air bit at her skin. “Like, are we still on the map?”

Henry walked around the vehicle and wrapped his arms around her petite frame. “About two years ago, I had a flat tire coming home from a business trip, and I had to get some help. Dumb old me forgot my phone at the conference. So I walked about two miles until I came here. Couldn’t believe my eyes. The place had the cutest look and some of the best food I had ever had in my life.” He closed his eyes. “I can still taste that savory steak sizzling in my mouth to this day on a rosy heart-shaped plate. It was like nothing you could even imagine.”

“Sounds interesting.”

He nodded his head as they walked up to the door. “Yes. So, I thought it would be the perfect place to go for Valentine’s Day. Even if we had to drive for such a long time. Trust me, it will be worth it.”

Nora smiled as they entered the building. “Well, I can’t wait to see.” Her blue eyes widened. “Oh my. This place looks so. . .” She looked around at the heart-shaped booths. “Amazing.”

A young lady with a rose on her uniform walked up to them. “Hello and welcome to Hearts Desire. Do you two want a table or a booth tonight?”

Henry smiled. “I would love it if you graced us with a booth.”

The young waitress bowed. “Of course. Follow me.” She led them across the room and towards a lovely booth with heart-shaped seats. “Here you are.” The waitress waited for them to slide into their seats. “Here is our menu for tonight. Can I give the lovely couple anything to drink?”

Henry smiled. “Just water for me.”

“Ice tea, please.”

“Of course. Right way.” The young waitress turned around and walked away.

Nora picked up the heart-shaped napkins. “This place is quite cute.”

“I know. I have been meaning to bring you here for quite some time, Nora. I just. . . haven’t found the right day.” He pulled at his arm. “Finding the right time for this hasn’t been easy.”

She blushed. “Oh, I am sure it isn’t that bad.”

He took her hands into his. “Oh, I just wanted everything to be perfect. You see, you are a lovely, lovely woman. And I... I don’t know if. . .” He looked around nervously.

“If?”

Henry tapped his fingers on her arm. “Where are our drinks?” He turned his head. “I asked for them to be here when we arrived.”

The waitress walked up and set a glass bottle of water onto the table. “I am so sorry. There is a situation in the kitchen.” She set down Nora’s ice tea. “Now, if you will excuse me.” She turned around. “Put that down. That is not a toy.”

Nora sighed. “Well, that was odd.” She picked up the glass of ice tea. “And a bit ill-timed.”

“Wait!”

“Huh?”

Henry looked at the glass of ice tea. “Before you take a sip, maybe, umm, examine the nice craftsmanship of the glass. I think you will really enjoy what they have done.” He smiled.

Nora laughed. “What?” She looked down at the sparkling glass of ice tea. “I don’t see how this could be that different than any of the other amazing stuff in this restaurant. Huh?”

Nora noticed a twinkle at the bottle of the glass. “What is that?” She held the bottle over her head. “Is that what I think it is?”

Henry smiled. “Nora, I don’t just want to see you every few days. Maybe once a week. I want this to go from us spending time together to spending our life together.” Her cheeks turned bright red as she poured the tea onto the table, revealing a diamond ring. “I know it isn’t that big, but I hope this will show how much I love you.”

“Ohh, my god.” She picked up the ring and held it up in the light. “I love how it sparkles.”

He gently took the ring out of her hand and got down on one knee. “So, Nora Ivirne. Will you make me the happiest man on earth and marry me?”

She jumped out of the booth and into the air. “Oh, my god. Yes. A thousand times, yes.” She wrapped her arms around him. “Ohh yes, yes, yes.” As Henry slipped the ring onto her finger, she kissed his warm cheek. “Ohh, it fits perfectly.”

Henry smiled as he slipped back into the booth. “That is good. I got it from a place called Growth Dreams.” He shrugged. “I am surprised they sold diamond rings, but I am glad they did. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have been able to afford one.” He took her hand into his. “And give you the ring that you deserve.”

Nora shivered as she felt a strange warmth spread throughout her body. “Thank you.

It is lovely. I don’t care if it is a bit on the cheap end. It is the thought that counts.”

Henry raised an eyebrow. “Is it just me, or are your hands really heating up?”

Nora giggled. “Why that is just my love for you radiating throughout my body.” She hummed. “Feel my warmth spreading into you.”

Henry’s eyes widened, and he sat back. “Ummm. . . Nora. . .”

She giggled as she sat back. “Ohh, I feel so wonderful.” She tapped her hand on the table. “Butterflies floating about in my chest. I just. . . I have been waiting for this moment all my life.” As she wrapped her legs around Henry’s legs, Nora stretched her arms out. “I am the happiest woman alive.”

“Nora. Please just wait a moment.”

She looked down at him. “What is it?”

“Listen to me very slowly.” He reached up and took her hands. “You are growing. Honey, you are almost nine feet tall.”

She bent over and laughed. “Ohh, that is a good one.” Nora slammed her hand on the table, the salt and pepper shakers jumping into the air. “I do have to say I love your humor, Henry.”

He shook his head. “It isn’t. . .”

She looked at her ring. “I mean, you did get this ring from Growth Dreams, right? Must be part of a joke. Make me think I could be growing.” She threw her head back and laughed. “Oh, I love it.” Her eyes widened as her knees struck the bottom of the table. “What?” She looked down and noticed that Henry was now indeed smaller. “Wait.” As she bent down, she saw her rear end was stuck in the booth. “Nooo. I can’t. . . this isn’t possible.”

“Hunny. Please stay calm.”

“Calm? Henry, I am growing beyond conceivable limits here.” She took a deep breath as her red mini-dress pressed tightly against her body. “Or when my clothes feel like a vice.

Oh god, what is happening to me?”

Henry slid out of the booth. “Hold on. I will try and get you out of there.” He grabbed her floral skirt and pulled on it. “Hughhhhhh!” Shrrripppp.  He fell onto his ass with a handful of her skirt. “Oh shit.” He looked up at his growing girlfriend. “Ummm, stay right there. I will think of something.”

Nora gulped as her legs slowly ripped the table out of the ground. “Well, hurry before I find a way out of this booth on my own.”

The waitress hummed as she walked back. “So, what would you two want to. . .” She looked up at Nora. “Oh my god!”

Henry laughed. “We are having a bit of an issue here.”

The young lady shook her head. “Not again. This can’t be happening again.”

Nora looked down in surprise. “Again?” Her knees shot through the table, causing the salt and pepper shakers to roll onto the floor.

“Look, we had a woman about a year ago grow into a giantess and almost wreck the building.” She turned around. “Ok, everyone out. Giantess alert. Everyone out!”

Nora held her head in her hands as everyone jumped to their feet and rushed for the door. “This is a nightmare.” As her pants ripped, her rear end knocked the booth over. “It went from the happiest moment in my life to the most embarrassing.”

“Hey.” Henry smiled. “You are free now. Let’s get out of here.”

Nora blushed. “Yes. Let’s hurry.” Shrrippp.

“Before my dress rips apart any further.” Nora stood up only to bonk her head on the ceiling. “Shit.” She rubbed her head and looked at the massive dent she had just made in the roof. “I am really getting big.”

Henry laughed as he took her enlarged hand. “Ya. Maybe soon you can pick me up with just one hand. That would be fun.”

“Fun?” She fell onto her hands and knees. “Ugh, god!” Her skirt ripped apart. “I am running out of room fast.” Nora pushed aside the tables to clear herself a path to the door. “But why do you think me picking you up would be fun?”

He chuckled as he made it to the front door of the restaurant. “I don’t know. I just had a bit of an umm. . . fun fantasy. One where my wife was much larger than me and would let me climb all over her and sit on me. It’s stupid.”

Nora blushed as she pulled herself to the doorframe. “I mean, it is a bit surprising.

But maybe I will grow big enough to make your dream come true.”

Henry’s face lit up. “Oh my. You are the best. . .” He jumped into the air. “I love you so much, honey.”

She tried to slip her head through the door. “Ughh. I think I’m stuck.” Nora took a deep breath as she tried to push her gigantic noggin through the doorway again. “Fuck this tiny door. I can’t fit.” Shrrripppp. “And there goes my dress.”

“Hold on. We will think of something.”

She winced as the walls closed in on her and the furniture pressed against her sides. “I think it’s too late for that, Henry. Ughhhhhh!” Nora moaned as her back slammed against the ceiling, causing the foundation of the building to shake. “And I thought the clothing tightening up on me was bad.”

“Nora?” He took a few steps back as her head enveloped the doorway. “Are you ok?” The small restaurant trembled. “Speak to me.” Suddenly a gigantic arm shot out of the building. “Holy crap.” Moments later, another arm burst out of the foundation, followed by a leg. Then Nora’s head shot out of the roof.

“Ohhhh god.” She blinked her eyes. “Please tell me it is over.” The building shuddered before collapsing around her. “Oh, crap.”

An elderly man in a suit ran up to them. “What did you do?” He rushed up right to Nora’s gigantic thigh. “Five giantesses. Five times giantesses have grown in my restaurant, and none of them have destroyed it. You are the first.”

Nora gulped. “I’m so sorry.”

“You have to pay for this.”

Henry rushed forward. “This isn’t her fault.”

The elderly man turned towards her. “The others knew how to grow without destroying my pride and joy.”

Nora stood up, stumbling as she adjusted to her new height.

“Whoh.” She gulped. “Everything is so much smaller.” She bent down. “Now look, I am sorry, but I just didn’t have any more room to grow, mister.” She winced as her bra pressed against her body. “As it is, I am still growing, so I needed the space.”

The restaurant owner sneered. “You still destroyed my pride and joy. I want you two out of here. And you will never be able to come back. You hear me!”

Henry gulped. “But I love this place.”

“Don’t make me call the giantess hunters. I know how to get in touch with them.”

Henry took a few steps back. “Ok, ok. We will go.

Ouffff.” He gulped as he was suddenly raised into the air. “What is going on?”

Nora giggled as she held Henry in her hand. “What do you think, silly?” She began to walk down the road. “Isn’t this what you wanted?”

Henry’s eyes widened. “You mean?”

She nodded her head. “We still have a long night ahead of us.”
