“Glad you could make it.” Loralie smiled at Amber as she walked though the door.
“Of course. I wouldn’t miss this for anything. We haven’t gotten together in years.”
“Right. Now come on. Rachel and Hope are already inside. It is going to be a wonderful night filled with booze and movies.” Loralie laughed as she put her hand on Amber’s back. “I really don’t understand why we don’t do this more often.”
“Well because we grew up. I am a lawer for gods sake and you run your own business.”
Loralie laughed. “Yeah. This is the first vacation I have had in months.”
“Oh and Rachel is working for a big pharmsical firm.”
“What about Hope?” Loralie arched an eyebrow. “I haven’t really heard much of what she has been doing. I mean I am happy she answered my call but. . .”
“Oh that is easy.” Amber laughed. “The girl has been busy on tour with her music.”
“Wait really? That took off?”
The walked into the next room where the other girls were sitting on the couch. “Well I wouldn’t say took off but she is starting to sell her albums. She is getting close to moving out of her folks home.”
Hope picked up a pillow and tossed it at Amber. “I told you not to tell Loralie that I am still living with my parents!”
Amber laughed. “Sorry. I forgot.” She hurred and took the reclining chair.
“Amber! That is my seat.” Loralie put her hands on her hips.
“I don’t see your name on it!” The girls laughed.
“Ughh.” Loralie rubbed her forehead. “So are we ready to party?”
Rachel crossed her arms. “Well I think something is missing. You promised us booze.”
Hope nodded her head. “Yeah. How can this be a party where we laugh at the supidity of mankind if we can’t get stinking drunk?” Hope pointed at Loralie. “We want the booze to get this night started!”
Loralie sighed and turned around. “Okay, okay. I will go and get it.” She pointed at them. “But we are going to take things slow. This isn’t going to be like last year where we ended up butt naked in my neighbors lawn and he called the cops on us. You hear me?”
They all giggled at her and then Amber answered. “Of course. We promise not to do anything supid this year. Only have a good time laughing at other people’s mistakes. Right girls?” They all snickered.
Loralie walked into the kitchen, looking for the bottle of wine she had bought the other day. “Okay where did I leave it.” As she looked around she noticed a strange pink glow corming from one of the windows. “Huh? What in the world?” Her curiousiy getting the better of her Loralie made her way to the window and peered outside. “Are the nehibors trying to do something weird again? I swear if they are hooking up some high powered LED’s that I can see from here I am going to call the cops!”
But as she looked outside her neighbors house was dark. The only light she could see was coming from the moon. “Why is the moon pink? I have never seen it this way before?” She maoned. “Ughhh.” Her eyes were suddenly glued. “I feel. . . so warm. Like I. . . I can’t remember but I feel I have. . . seen this before. In a dream.”
Loralie blinked her eyes as the pink light faded. “That was weird.” She rubbed her eyes and turned around. “I think I am going a tad bit crazy. I swear I just saw a pink full moon. It isn’t even supposed to be full for another week.” She looked back outside, the cloads now covering the sky. “See? I am just imagining things.” She laughed. “I just need to go in there and have fun with everyone. To jump, bounce and jiggle my butt about for them.” She giggled her voice raising in pitch a little.
“Wait what?” She held her hand over her mouth. “Why in the world would I say that?” She looked around embarrsed. “I am just going to find the wine and get back to the girls before they start to coplain.”
